Extremely grateful for @canucksarmy.bsky.social for asking me to contribute. Very excited for my first article there.

I focused on the specific contract details that made the original Filip Hronek trade so special then used those parameters to find similar options this season. Give it a read!

Recap of Assistant Coach Brett McLean's pre-game comments.
Looking at the Canucks roster as players are closer to returning from injury with a 23/23 roster.

Four on IR (Blueger, Lekkerimaki, Chytil, & Mancini) and two on LTIR (Forbort & Hoglander).

Five players are waiver exempt (MacEachern, Sasson, Willander, D-Petey, & Kudryatsev).
Canucks recalled Kirill Kudryavtsev on Oct. 26th. Since then he hasn't played any games. With Hughes back and the road trip over, would make sense for Kudryavtsev to be sent back to Abbotsford in the next day or so.
The Vancouver Canucks have placed Vitali Kravtsov on waivers for the purposes of a contract termination.

Canucks are at 46 contracts (not including players who's contract have slid because they are in junior). This will be reduced to 45 tomorrow.

Recap of Rick Dhaliwal's interview with Halford & Brough.
Canucks did not bring a spare forward on the road trip and only have Kudryavtsev as a healthy scratch.

They have the cap space but not the roster space necessary to recall another forward.
Stamkos has two more years at $8.0m cap hit. Kane has sucked but at least he isn't dead money going forward.

I see some Canucks fans have been saying the Canucks had a bag skate yesterday morning and that's a reason why they lost. Let's be clear here: there was no bag skate. You may have seen a brief video of the players doing some hard work at the end of yesterday's skate but that lasted all of 30 secs

Canucks GM Patrik Allvin tells me neither Conor Garland nor Quinn Hughes are travelling with the team. Canucks flying to St. Louis today.

Allvin still hopeful Hughes can join the team in either Minnesota or Nashville.

Chytil and Forbort were already high-level injury risks. Blueger was healthy last season but frequently missed time in all his previous seasons.

Then there's the lack of recovery time between games. Typically you get a two day break after a road trip but the Canucks don't get one until Nov. 6 & 7.
I would like to see proof of life for Émilie Castonguay.
Forbort is the safe play to place on LTIR. He only needs to miss 2 more games and 9 more days before he is eligible to be activated.
