Me when someone says they used chatGPT.
Oh my goodness these are so cute. Especially the snow one.
The garden book about a place built by the Merck heirs is fascinating, if also not so directly relevant. One of their hacks is importing Himalayan poppies from Alaska in the Fall, then having them under a cloche in the very late Winter so they bloom before it's too hot.
I had a coworker drop down to per diem (filling in gaps in the schedule kinda, less than part time) as a nurse and get a job in an Amazon warehouse because their insurance covers IVF and ours doesn't.
But mostly I'm trying to just improve and not let perfect get in the way of good. It's kinda a mess right now.
Thanks for the link. I should be better, but I really like some of my non native plants. Like I am getting more Love in a Mist every year and I just adore how it looks. What I really want is some mix of potager, cottage garden and local plants.
But I take much better care of the areas that I've set up in a look that I like, I expect this would be similar.
Gardeners world has some good ideas but the shape of their urban plots is just so different. They mostly seem to have long narrow plots with very short setbacks from the house up front and a longer private back area. I'm on a much chunkier corner lot and tragically lack the beautiful stone walls.
Checked a few books from the library for inspiration. The first one is clearly too fancy - they have a potager (lovely!) behind the stables for their ponies.
I want to make my front yard better, i.e. less yard. Slight challenge is the numerous roses that I would not have picked or would at least have put along the edges, not midway between the house and sidewalk.
Algorithms are so weird. My Instagram ads are suddenly like 25% services for shipping to the Philippines all pointing out the last sailing to get things there by Christmas.
My library system has something like this but with a stamp at every branch. More mundane views but I'm trying to get them all.
You say the holiday backwards and instead of being a pedestrian in your own neighborhood, doing a little hospitality with your neighbors, you hang out in a parking lot or inside a church.
A church advertisement for their 'Neewollah' activities just makes me think of the Satanic Panic claims about reciting the Lord's Prayer backwards.
One job I was answering calls about Christmas orders and an angry customer from Maine spelled something at me, heavy accent, full speed, using names. Like "Sarah Michael Isaac Timothy Henry". No slowing down, no S as in. (It wasn't Smith, I just don't recall what it was)
I was already a full time AI hater, but this is terrible.
This woman is in a nursing program & the entire textbook for her anatomy class is wrong because it was written by a professor who used chatgpt to generate the images & possibly the text. She complained to the prof, then the university— they’ve done NOTHING about it.

I am just a suburb dweller now. But this is a good reflection of what Portland is actually like right now.
Chanterelle omelettes for brunch. Omg.

It's the time of year where I want to just keep increasing the proportion of wool:anything else in my outfits.
It was terrific, thank you!
Went to a mushroom class today. Wow that was fun! Class finished and spouse and I went right back into the woods for another hour and a half.
