I agree with your assessment. Do not ask colleagues to read your stuff. No one has time for this. Sit on your work for a week, see what’s real and what’s petty and maybe revise and send elsewhere. Giving up is not an option.

#Smithsonian will shut after Oct 11 if govt still shut down. BUT, Smithsonian Online Academic Appointment (SOLAA) system will remain open. Applications for the Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program (SIFP) and the Betsy James Wyeth Fellowship in Native American Art due OCT 15 at midnight EST.

Informing people that my work exists, and is relevant to various kinds of issues that interest some people. I have used social media for education and advocacy purposes (monuments, public art), but it’s much harder to do that now, I find, esp on this site. I don’t think many see my posts anyway.
