For sure. Looking at it as glass half full, when you start out with an 8-foot sidewalk it leaves room for degradations.

It's the 5' sidewalks with no grass buffer that become functionally unusable when we plop a utility pole in the middle.

Measured some sidewalks today.

Publix has an 8' sidewalk with a 6' grass buffer.

Even with 6' of buffer they had to put the traffic signal pole smack dab in the sidewalk.

But with the 8' sidewalk you still have about 5' of usable width even with the pole.

I get that. I hate focusing on bad people/things as well. This book is well-written which makes it go by faster.

And reading a paper book is a different experience than doom scrolling.

I normally wouldn't seek out a political book but this one has been a pleasant surprise.
