There does appear to be a change in how this is reported in the media today!

Trans people 'have had their human rights breached' after Supreme Court ruling
Trans people's legal gender has been 'voided of practical meaning'.

Perhaps they should insist that all future councillors and MPs pass this qualification before being allowed to take up their position?

Seems only fair.

(Reform would be f**ked lol)

The response from Keir Starmer's spokesman - a denial there is a problem, a denial he must know to be untrue - strongly suggests Labour is no longer concerned to adhere to its human rights obligations.

But do they employ new LGBT staff? I'm finding so many employers have inclusion statements but I come up against a stone wall at interview. As soon as they clock I'm trans I may as well turn around and leave.

From Jake as well!

He's right. It really does seem like that. I'm untouchable and unemployable now because of the bigotry and segregation that post-Brexit Britain chooses over progress and inclusion.

Why do we keep talking about trans healthcare?

Because of statistics like this.
Because every day waiting, in this world obsessed with harassing trans people, is a battle that many don't survive.

So, we keep talking about it, and keep fighting back against systemic transphobia.

They actually wrote that but Washington has decreed that all 'B' keys on keyboards are now banned.

An exclusive with hate group Sex Matters or something. Wouldn't surprise me.

“The UK stands at a crossroads,” Maugham said. “Are we going to be a nation that respects its human rights obligations, or are we going to abandon them whenever the rightwing press demands it? First immigrants, then trans people – who next, Sir Keir?”

I'm not sure Sir Keir will do f**k all.

Though I can't find a BBC News article on it. 🤔

This is worth a read and a share! Thank God someone in Europe is noticing the horrendous attack on human rights in the UK.

Read my two letters to the #UK:
1. Protests: I call for a review of the legal framework and the reconsideration of provisions in the Crime & Policing Bill that could restrict freedom of assembly.
2. Trans people: I warn against exclusion&zero-sum approaches

I've seen that but words are one thing, action is another. This government don't seem to care about what anyone else thinks, just themselves.

I've seen both. Some are saying things have gone too far, but others are parroting what they read in the media and see on tv.

NHS England will soon be publishing its review of adult gender services. Trans Healthcare Coalition have created a breakdown of what the review is about, what outcomes we’d like to see, and more.

The Supreme Court decision is “clear”.

A clear breach of trans people’s human rights:

Even The Times seemed quite moderate and facture (all things relative!) than their usual offerings!

"He also said trans people should not be forced to gain a gender recognition certificate in order to comply with the ECHR."

Treatment of trans people may breach ECHR, ministers told
Council of Europe sets out concerns following gender ruling and also tells government that banning Palestine Action may breach the freedom of peaceful assembly

Nathan Gill will be sentenced on 21st November for 8 charges of taking Russian Bribes.

It’s essential that the European Parliament carries out an investigation in to UKIP, Brexit Party and Reform UK and their connection to Russia.

Investigation now!

Trans people 'have had their human rights breached' after Supreme Court ruling
Trans people's legal gender has been 'voided of practical meaning'.

And this sentence is especially pertinent;

"Exclusion of trans people from services for their lived gender, the letter makes clear, must be the exception - not the rule."

Thank you so much. A well written and diplomatic letter.

I fear they will ignore you, but at least you tried which has been recorded as a matter of record. It's a very worrying time to be trans here.

The letter on trans rights is excellent. I encourage you to read it. With a remarkable economy of language, it pins down and dismantles the transphobic arguments around rights that became common coin in the UK over the past 10 years.

Labour would do well to heed this. But we all know they won't.
