I don't know how old your kids are, but can I tell you that they do notice more than they let on? We had this with a set of grandparents. They also noticed that the sibling-in-law was preferred.

They chose not to talk to those grandparents anymore once we talked to them about it.

My kids are currently listening to a Halloween mix tape my spouse put together while they play poker in costumes for candy. It's literally the most flexible holiday.

My cardigan has taken me FOREVER. I absolutely get tired of looking at it. Smaller projects to break it up and do the cardigan while you watch TV or audiobook is my suggestion.

If you're not opposed to two projects at once, I say both. Your cardigan will take a bit longer than you expect, so you can work on the little things in between.

The person we got her from had her cooped in with a bunch, and it wasn't her favorite thing. Maybe someday I'll get more when I have a space that I can put her in one corner and them in another.
