The Russian drone attack has a couple of times looked to be nearing the end, then a few more trundle over the border into Ukraine.

Hopefully this time it is almost the end, because I need to head to bed.

Nizhny Novgorod is the only airport in Russia to be closed so far this evening.

The occupied part of Kherson region is under attack right now. It's difficult to get info from there, but maybe we will get details in the morning.

Almost beat them too! It is scandalous - they're just not allowed to play at home, despite the fact they virtually started the war with the battle of Kyiv starting inside Belarus and crossing the border there.

Many reports of a total blackout in Belgorod - but it's stretching the truth.

The mayor says street power was shut off to prevent grid overloads + power outages. Traffic lights were still working even where street lights were out.

So there are problems, but some exaggerate.

A Ukraine drone has reached Moscow region, while there is a red alert for the neighbouring Russian region of Ryazan.

However, no airports have yet been closed.

In Kharkiv they had to evacuate the hospital of all 57 patients. They've been moved to other medical facilities.

Six people were injured by flying glass when the aerial bomb hit. Many others needed to be treated for stress.

An outbuilding in a medical centre was destroyed according to reports.

Three parts of the city are without power following this strike.

Soldiers from Azov claim a massive Russian attacked in Donetsk has been thwarted today.

The invaders were trying to storm Dobropillia again.
78 Russians were allegedly killed and they did publish a lot of details.

Georgia's puppet govt will toughen penalties for violating protest regulations, the ruling party announced.

Participation in any demo banned by the pro-Moscow authorities will result in 60 days detention.

Yesterday a women's march took place in Tblisi, called "You won't take Georgia prisoner."

Zelenskyy also revealed today they will have to import energy again to cover the shortfalls over winter.

Ukraine's energy sector has not been decimated - it's much worse than that. Decimated means losing a tenth and Ukraine lost well over 50% of its production capability.

President Zelenskyy will meet with Trump on Friday.

It had been thought only his PM Yuliia Sviridenko, Ex-Def Min Rustem Umerov and defacto Ukr #2 Andriy Yermak, would be in the U.S.

A future peace, air defence and Tomahawks are on the agenda.

In the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia, it looks like some Russian soldiers were dealt a tiny bit of justice.

Using stolen dwellings, their location was found out by Ukraine's army causing panic as they tried to flee.
But my sympathies are for the real owners, wherever they may be.

Analysing the situation, I don't believe China loves Russia and/or hates Ukraine.

But Putin is now the useful puppy for President Xi.

China still benefits hugely from the war continuing: the US/Europe + Russia using reserves, while 🇨🇳benefits from cheap oil.

China used to fool many that it was neutral and Ukraine tried to play along.

But the mask has long been taken off. New figures from @washingtonpost.com show just how much Russia is now dependent on Beijing.

In Krakow, the nation's footballers take on Azerbaijan in a world cup qualifier, looking to maintain 2nd place in the group.

Already today cyclist Kyrylo Tsarenko, from Kropyvnytskyi, has won the Tour of Kyushu in Japan, his 2nd title of 2025.

I give Navalny credit for minimising opposition.
He had to be populist and stick to the most popular and strongly held beliefs in his campaigning to get any public support and traction.
Had he come to power, it would have been interesting to see if he subtly changed, but we will never know.
