Buy GPUs, Ed! Buy them, or the faceless eastern hordes will win!
A couple of hours into Avowed, I realized I needed a break from Open World games. But now I'm back to it. First thought:
Why did they even bother with a stealth mechanic? I can spend 5 more minutes per fight to have to kill one fewer dude, or I can just fight all the dudes and have time for my kids.
Turns out you can diagnose a generation with both clinical and moral disabilities, which is a real time-saver.
Pfft, yeah right, I've seen and heard it all.

*unmutes audio*

FUCK! No, I wasn't ready for that, you were right.

Head in hands wondering how this could happen to me, the popular president who posted a video of myself shitting on everyone 2 weeks ago
Gonna join the chorus of voices pointing out that this is a marginal tax rate, levied on income earned past what a person needed to live a really fucking good life by nearly any standards.

Well, there goes my hope of ever getting paid a trillion $ to take over a company and simultaneously overvalue it and run it into the ground. The American Dream is dead.
He got that roboheart, though. Where'd he keep the real one?
Oh! This is what we used to call "compassionate conservatism" in the Bush Jr days.
Still somehow less egregious than when Steve Jobs stole a liver because fruit didn't cure his cancer.
This is a Conde Nast publication -- is Wired next?
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
I also just finished "Out There Screaming," a horror anthology edited by Jordan Peele, and I was very taken with "A Bird Sings by the Etching Tree" by Nicole D. Sconiers, which takes the tropey spectral female hitchhiker and puts her in the proverbial driver's seat.
I only clearly remember the first one, "The Ghost Squad Breaks Through", in which spirits wander the earth, tormented by the woes of their survivors.

UNTIL! The brainy little brother of one spirit invents a word processor sensitive enough to capture keystrokes from Beyond, and the game is afoot.
Thinking on this took me back to my literary childhood and "The Ghost Squad" -- not a BBC crime drama but rather an 80s preteen paranormal thriller series by E.W. Hildick.
Is there something like Betteridge's law of headlines for this? Like, "If a headline uses passive voice to say a person 'was shot' but omits the crucial prepositional phrase 'by <shooter>', the shooter was a cop"?
I will be convinced that Scott Adams is sick when there's a published cause of death. Dude is a pile of bad takes, self-help gifts, and hypochondria.

I need an android app that can record and send video messages. Preferably with cutesy shit like filters and drawing.

I'm giving up on Google, since Duo got scroogled by mid-ass Meet. Meta offerings will not be considered. Surely there are others? Sadly the SEO slop artists have me over a barrel.

The Python Software Foundation rejected a $1.5 million U.S. government grant because it required them to renounce all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
