Dang, I really have to wait 11 years to meet the requirements? That's a long campaign cycle.
A lot going on in the Maine Senate race at the moment. For new folks who have followed me, I do try to interact with comments when I can but it varies quite a bit. I appreciate all the recent comments even those calling me out for my stances in some areas. Still hoping for debates across Maine soon.
I appreciate the brutally honest feedback. If you're willing, then please send me a message or email with your expanded thoughts on this and other concerns you have. One of my goals is to be as transparent as possible on the site so folks can really argue against my stances when they disagree.
Yeah, feel free to ask any questions you may have. Bluesky character limits are a pain for providing particular long introductions. To answer the lead in, I don't have any tattoos at all despite several suggestions during my Army time
I don't have any tattoos at all for what its worth.
There a way more people who have already declared. And Maine has ranked choice voting anyways, so it pays to learn a bit about all of us. Of course, more people might sign up in the next few months as well.

It is a runoff if no one hits 50% right away. This is the official video for it. Though I believe the video was made before we implemented the semi-open factor.

Maine has a semi-open, ranked choice primary for the Senate race that will be in June of next year. So its good to look at multiple candidates anyways to be honest.
Could have been w/ support from Mills. But we also have bad history with running speakers of the house against Collins (Gideon). A lot of folks were hoping he would run if Mills declined to do so. This primary is shaping up to be chaotic though so he certainly wouldn’t be the worst choice.
I remain convinced that Mills should have focused on mentoring and advocating for younger candidates to help build up their profiles to the public, but I am obviously biased in that sense. The primary has 9 Dems in it so far though. Let's see what happens though. Plenty of time till voting.
There are 9 Dems in total right now in the primary. So while none of them might meet what people are looking for, there are quite a few options.
There are 9 registered Dems still running in the primary. And more might join later even with Mills playing a part. The primary vote is still a long way off.
The question, as others have said, is if those people actually join the race. But there are still many options already declared:

Maine's US Senate primary is ranked choice. There are currently 9 Dem candidates registered to run. With so many candidates, I join Jordan Wood in calling for debates in every county so that folks can see and hear from all of us. See the list below from Ballotpedia.

A High School senior was a speaker at the protest in Portland! Katya mentioned that she was starting something called the Franklin Project to help with youth organizing for these exact types of movements. So definitely even some younger folks doing great things.
I ran into David Costello at Brunswick and Portland and he spoke at both. Those two protests were my main focus as well, but I only spoke at the Portland one. Jordan Wood was also at the Portland protest and spoke.
No Kings in Brunswick and Portland today was packed. Huge thanks to all of the organizers and folks who showed up and participated. Protest signs always remind me of just how creative people can be when they are really fired up about a cause! As goes Maine, so goes the nation! #mepolitics
No Kings is tomorrow! If you have the chance, then please consider going to protests to remind this administration that we care about human rights and democracy. I will be one of the now many speakers at the protest in Portland and hope to meet some of you in person! Stay strong Maine! #mepolitics
People need to understand this exact point. One of the major talking points for republicans is that this issue should be addressed later. That is absolutely false. It must be addressed now. Lives literally depend on this issue. Fix it.
This is NOT an end-of-year issue. Open enrollment runs Nov.1 – Jan.15 for most states and window shopping begins in October. If Congress waits until Dec.31, 1.5 million more people will be uninsured in 2026 compared to an earlier extension. (4/4)

In my humble opinion, the only role DSCC money should play in the Maine Senate primary is paying for televised debates or open forums in every county in Maine. If we truly believe that competitiveness is the driver of strength in candidates then prove it. And be transparent about it. #mepolitics
Slight update: Dan Kleban has dropped out and endorsed Mills already. So we are back to nine again.
Unsurprising. Personally, I'm not stopping. I started my campaign knowing I would be up against established politicians and candidates with far deeper pockets than mine. But Mainers deserve a competitive primary where candidates are challenged on their positions. I look forward to it. #mepolitics
NEW: Maine Democrat Dan Kleban suspends his Senate campaign & endorses Janet Mills the same day she launches her campaign.

Also comes as the DSCC files a joint fundraising committee with Mills.

Consolidation happening around Mills, who would be 79 if elected to the 6-year-term.
