I would say that the Article I branch not living up to its Article I responsibilities has resulted in the ceding of power to the other branches, each more removed (one very much so) from the voters. And the voters have greenlit this repeatedly through their choice of representatives.

Half of Gen Z are racial minorities. So a minority of whites wish to set up some type of discrimination scheme against up to half of the future population. How would that work? Would they dictate businesses follow it? If you don't discriminate, you are prejudiced (against whites)?

The only problem is their antic repel more sober minded voters. When all of this finally shakes out, the GOP will have a smaller, less reliable voter base. And that base will be conditioned to the politics of the carnival barker. A complete transformation of the party.

A possible attractive theory is that the reason Team MAGA is going with the all bananas all the time strategy is that they've lost folks who are interested in politics, policy and results, and replaced them with folks who are interested in Trump. If these people are not engaged, they lose interest.

They say one is supposed to get more conservative as they age. This seems at least anecdotally true. The opposite is true for me, or at least I think I better understand why I believe the things I believe. There are a lot of haughty, self-satisfied people online.

Start making 2028 noises, get on trumps radar. Then you have to deal with that and decisions have to be made. Break with him, draw his ire and screw your candidacy. Or stay close and eventually die from the increasing radioactivity of him. Best move is to keep your powder dry.

The overall number on immigration has been his best for awhile, but people hate a lot of what ICE is doing and ICE is -9 in approval. So as the ICE equivalent of fire hoses and dogs stacks up video footage on a daily basis, expect his overall immigration numbers to fall.

There will be elections and there may be a premium on sounding like a normal human being. The ones that do any more than take rich folks money and do the politicking that they need to do end up getting infected with stupid speak and will lose to a progressive with actual campaign chops.

We shouldn’t be subsidizing offshoring through the tax code. Otoh, we shouldn’t be getting into trade wars over tshirts. American manufacturers can compete in a variety of markets. Companies that do well and add US jobs should be favored if any are. Same for foreign manufacturers operating here.

Bibi has been making life miserable for US Presidents and Secs of State since HW Bush. He's got Trump right where he wants him and will continue to do whatever he wants to do. The goal was to crush Gaza and any chance of a Palestinian state, not to crush Hamas, as they are a useful tool.
