wow you're like a magician who pulled a coin from behind my ear, except the coin is just a whole ass mood
To whoever rated my #book four stars on Amazon... thank you! 🤩 I don't know if I'll ever get used to the idea that something I wrote has been seen (and even liked!) by other people. I hope I never do, cos it's a very cool feeling.

My sales are not doing great, possibly cos I've neglected to do any marketing for the past couple weeks. There's one more week til my sales reports are due, so if you're looking for a silly little book to read this spooky season, feel free to check mine out! It would help me greatly! #booksky #books
Big mood, Toad. Big mood.
“Tomorrow!” cried Toad. “I will do it all tomorrow!”
Writing is hard.

No, that's not true. Writing is fun. Starting is hard. Why is it so hard?? 🙃

Sometimes I get a little disheartened after I finish reading a book because I wonder if I will ever be able to write a book that good. I don't always have the most confidence in myself that I can.
Just finished reading a book that started from the same premise as my own (Frankenstein + dinosaurs🦖). It was much better written than mine! Shout-out to @cemcgill.bsky.social for their book, Our Hideous Progeny-- queer, feminist, all around a fantastic read (and with dinos, the cherry on top!🍨) 😄💖

I'd love a boost on the Inkfort Publishing Derby, the event where we had three months to write and publish a book from scratch: 2025pubderby.carrd.co Each one is the product of a lot of hard work and passion!

But I'd be remiss not to mention my own (available on that list): books2read.com/b/baOy96

Conversely, I hate how quickly cold butter on bread will completely ruin my mood.

The butter be like: You want nice butter on your nice bread? How about I tear up the bread and leave literally no butter as I do 😎
Meet the cast of #TyrantReptileRevengening (6/6):

Concluding this thread with Dr. Hubrys Rue Vespertine: a self-absorbed, whiny genius. He's the one who creates the Reptile by weaving together the DNA of a dozen species, both alive and extinct. #booksky 📚📣

Meet the cast of #TyrantReptileRevengening (5/6):

The Reptile: a 10-ft tall lab-grown creature. Picture a green #Godzilla type dude with short #T-Rex arms, red eyes, head spikes. A family man & a fan of 2010s pop. #readingcommunity #scifi #booksky #books

As someone who would occasionally try to use shopping carts as indoor scooters when I was a kid/teen, I can tell you that excitement is not limited to adults in their thirties 😋

(Maybe I was a grocery store menace, but why else would stores have smooth tile floors and long, straight aisles??)
P.S. For those keeping tally, that's at least six #published authors who included this little #EasterEgg, but there could be more! Hopefully my fellow authors will chime in if I left anyone out. Just to be safe, you should probably read all the books linked above and check em all for sand 😉 #reading
(2/2) The Tourist by @gremlinsorcerer.bsky.social and Falling For You also reportedly reference sand. Mods added a Minecraft sand emote to chat just for us.

Check out the #books that were published as part of this year's #writing event, and keep your eyes out for sand in the next #book you #read!
(1/2) The fun thing about the #InkfortPublishingDerby: a "sand cult" formed among the #writers this year. I believe it started with the #author of Sandrat's Run, but @hmbiggs.bsky.social, @rachaelelliott.bsky.social and I also added sand to our books... for the giggles 😁 📚📣

I don't think I've ever seen Gwendoline Christie in anything where I didn't also greatly enjoy her performance <3
Anyone else remember reading the book "Chrysanthemum" (Kevin Henkes) as a kid? I loved that book and I think it kickstarted my affection for long and interesting words. Like pulchritudinous. I like that word.
As someone trying to grow their own small brand, I've been hearing a lot about the benefits of this 'exposure' stuff. I went to a nude beach 'cos I heard it would be really good exposure.

...I don't think it's actually helping my brand though.
