When I think I've succeeded but I've in fact done something else.
Bald man thinking "I want to be a vampire! I will it!" and when he thinks he's succeeded he's a skeleton monster with a missing front tooth.

This is I need to stress actually quite bad. Like really bad writing. It’s fascinating how little it works. It’s telling the writing credits weren’t finalized as of publication. Releasing this as a book feels like a dark joke.

Defenders balanced, I think, while X-Factor played him for tragedy. Hank being called out for being a performative mutant clown for mainstream America and founding Mutants Only Need Sensitivity, Tolerance and Equal Rights was balanced with clubbing with Patsy or playing with his dog.

When John Depreaux was a child, she met a werewolf who wasn't there, and ever since she has been unsure of what is real and what just feels that way. She knows she's hot shit, though. And, she's about to fall in love.
(From The Complete Adelessa, a novel about fanfic and fic cultures.)
John walks back to the kitchenette, holding the cell to her ear and making upset but conciliatory sounds into it. She puts the box of cereal back in the cabinet, and retrieves a blue dress shirt, wrinkled except for immaculate portofino cuffs, from the same space.
	“What up?
	“Yes, I’m up.
“Yes, I’m going to wear a tie.
	“Yes, I’m up.
Yes, I will we are the tie to work.”
She slips on the shirt while keeping the phone to an ear.
John tries buttoning the shirt with one hand, failing three times before the crick in her neck locks the phone to her face.
“Because,” she tells the phone, “I like wearing one. People wear ties. People wear ties to work. Lots of them.”
John, all cleaned up and GQ, shirt, tie, vest, double-breasted suit and shoes all perfectly in sync; an Olympics athlete cereal box shot with less monochromatic palate. Women come out of nowhere to ooh and ahh at her. Men passing by are in awe, giving her the eye as she struts two or three over-posed steps, but who gives a ducked about dat?
John wishes. She wishes she was in a movie or a glamour shoot.
Into the phone, she says, “Not lots of ties.”
	Jesu Christmas.
	She rummages through a cabinet.
“You don’t have a girlfriend you can do this to?” she asks.
	“She won’t let you? Huh.”
John selects a necktie from the cabinet throwing it around her neck and looping a noose with a flip.

LOOMING NARRATIVE UNTIL HALLOWEEN! #3
Elizabeth Sewell and Slaughter Swamp!

What is it about the swamp, the bog, and the little old house tucked away on the edge within? Wherewhen the world becomes soft and auroral outside night and day, effect and cause, in something vigorously dead?

I try to avoid self-publishing novels, poetry, other kinds of fiction or book length stuff, but in light of a) needing money, b) the tenuousness of my lifespan, and c) people being disappointed I'm not my mom/have a mom, I dunno. It's not like I can use publications to go up for academic review.

John Broome/Frank Giacoia had far future posthumanity be elves & faeries long before Seven Soldiers of Victory and Johnny Frankenstein maybe a nod to the case DC won against Johnny and Edgar Winter, but the Winters should have won.

Writing about the Turtles for next week's blogging notes from the Seven Soldiers of Victory group read, because the Turtles were absolutely mad and could not get audiences to stop taking the silliest stuff serious.

“You’re my pride and joy, et cetera.”

I'm so concerned with etiquette and politeness even though it's pouring rain, a hospital parking lot, and natch I can barely stand with support, not bend over or get down, I want so badly to go clean up where I got sick on the pavement. They should teach how to handle this situation in school.

Pretty much as Michael said, it creates a new Beast who was fine but not the guy he'd been as an Avenger or Defender (or in his solo stories). It's hard, if not impossible to imagine cartoon-Beast performing those scenes, much less the Frasier Beast which I feel stemmed from the cartoon portrayal.

The 90s cartoon did as much damage to Nightcrawler and Beast as Claremont making Kurt a priest or Krakoa turning Hank into a war criminal.

CNN, learn to be ashamed.

Commenters being weirdly classist about whisky or people who work at plants or breweries, also learn to be ashamed.

Meanwhile Heavy Metal was doing crypto coins that "allowed" you to buy your way into having some nominal work in an issue.

I'm really annoyed this New Adventures followup will likely never be completed, while Morrison's comic from the same magazine with Gerhard is pretty much complete but cannot be published/republished.

¿abandonada? titulada «The Savage Sword of Jesus Christ» (guiño a Conan el Bárbaro). Página de los tres crucificados en «The Savage Sword of Jesus Christ». Página de buitres alimentándose de los crucificados en «The Savage Sword of Jesus Christ», con un Jesucristo absurdamente musculoso gritándoles.

It's wild to me that people think cheap, free, or public domain mean "inferior" or simply so bad they have to be destroyed before someone can watch/read/engage. But, it's common enough that if you are giving a lot away, con sketches, etc, negotiate with yourself to not as often. Jack up your price.

I only wrote about 100 comics in my so-called career, but now that I'm dying, I'm grateful that I got to do even that. Comics are such a wonderful medium, and they've always meant so much to me.
