Sorry, protest purists. This is the only type of resistance that many conflict and confrontation-averse Americans feel comfortable participating in at this point. Any resistance to authoritarianism is a good thing, and the more people involved in it, the merrier (quite literally, in some cases).

In the US, domestic violence & rape are virtually never prosecuted. A 2025 report estimated *fewer than 4%* of rape cases result in conviction...most are unreported & those that are result mainly in persecution of the victim.

As more of the undecided become convinced that what the regime is doing is wrong, the larger these demonstrations will become. And then ICE will be facing off against more than just leftists and liberals. That's when the pendulum will really swing back against Trump.

News reports of streets filled with rioting brick throwers will never convince people like my neighbors here in MAGA country that ICE are the bad guys. Images of armed paramilitary operatives facing off against people in silly costumes, or dog piling hapless bystanders, IS having that effect.

That writer seems to think that the inflatable animal costumes and party-like vibe of the Portland demonstrations are reducing their effectiveness. But what average, undecided Americans are seeing in the news belies what the regime is telling them about that city, and THAT is a powerful effect.

I've had it with the protest purists who criticize seemingly everything that doesn't involve people in black bloc & gas masks picking fights with cops & setting cars and businesses on fire. When has that tactic ever moved the general public to take the protesters' side? Never, in the past 20 years.

Of course he's not concerned. Domestic violence isn't a crime in Russia, which is the model for much of what the Trump regime and its toadies, such as Johnson, intend for the US to become.

I just checked and this is real. It's on Border Patrol's official Instagram (I don't see it on Facebook) and is being celebrated by Nazis on Twitter, as you can see in the screenshot.

The clip is just 13 seconds long too, so it's a very intentional thing. We've got a Nazi government.
