Mark Williams won his maiden ranking title on home soil at the 1996 Welsh Open. His highest break that week in Newport was just 74.

Fast forward nearly 30 years and throughout his pro career Williams has:

The 50-year-old is one more win away from becoming professional snooker's oldest-ever ranking event champion.

The new British Open champion is going for back-to-back ranking titles, and he is into the semi-finals following a 5-3 win over Ding Junhui during which he top scored with a 121.

Murphy has now won his last 12 matches on the pro tour.
