I wanna start drawing and posting my art online again! I threw together this little sampler of Stuff I Like; not so much a representation of my art, but just sort of about what I'm about.

Daruma doll

Darmanitan from Pokemon Black and White. A round, bug-eyed, apelike creature that comes in two forms: An red, fiery, aggressive "Standard Mode", and a blue, calm, statue-like "Zen Mode".

Maneki-neko, aka "lucky cat" or "beckoning cat"

Meowth from Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue. A very simple cartoon calico cat with a stylized "koban" coin on its forehead. It is raising its left paw in a "beckoning" gesture.

Manekimon from the Digimon Pendulum Color Version 7. It is also a cartoonish calico cat, but less simplistic and a bit more anthropomorphized. Instead of a gold coin on its forehead, Manekimon has a red collar with a golden bell on its neck and a samurai topknot on its head. Its right paw, which is grotesquely enlarged and apparently augmented with some sort of machine part, is raised not so much in a beckoning gesture, but a rather threatening one.

Qiongqi

Chien-Pao from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Its body is sort of a mix of a weasel and a saber-toothed cat, and its "fur" looks more like snow. It has ice crystals in place of claws and whiskers, as well as along its body that make it resemble a snow leopard. Its most prominent feature are the "fangs" that in fact appear to be icicle-tipped metal blades pierced through its upper jaw.

Yihumon from Digimon New Century. It is a buff, yellow, anthropomorphic, martial artist tiger man with brown wings jutting out from its forearms. Its upper body is covered in yellow paper talismans, just like its fellow "Four Perils" member Dijiangmon.

Had a very bizarre dream last night where I was watching a movie about a family's killer golden retriever. But it wasn't like Cujo where they were physically trapped or anything, the dog just kept brutally mauling people to death and the family did nothing about it.

I do feel absolutely insane about how many eulogy posts for Björn Andrésen /exclusively/ use pictures of him as an underage boy, the very image that cast a shadow over the rest of his life.

Björn Andrésen was a 70 year old man, not an ethereal boy stuck in eternal youth. He was real.
