I run a couple anime con panels. I also appreciate Japanese chili (and IRL anime food) on the side. she/they • 🇨🇦🇭🇰🇵🇭 • ENG DEU📝 • 🖼️ yuumocha (📸 @yuumochachino)

It reminds me of the bookshelves at the local manga dessert cafe (Ki Cafe) 😍
We definitely can’t eat that food, but those dishes look realistic!
That’s a contrast from Vancouver! Costco is one of the cheapest options, thanks to the grocery cartel price gouging us 😭
I took the boot out for a spin by showing up to the office. The difference is like night and day; there is no foot pain from walking 🥹
Booked my ticket. Glad that there are three locations in Metro Vancouver that are screening Angel‘s Egg.
Unfortunately, I learned that I am far from being "on the tail end of my foot recovering".

However, this shouldn't impact my cooking panels outside of me wearing a walking boot while presenting at Akimatsuri on Nov 8 (not 6) 😜

Thanks to everyone who checked up on me this week; it means a lot 🥰
I’m on the tail end of my foot recovering; let’s go!
I have an update about whether my foot recovering is really „on the tail end“. Will see how things turn out first before posting (especially if it impacts cooking panel development).

As a Canadian, I'm surprised that McDonalds USA haven't taken cues from us, Germany, or France by offering some sort of limited-time international menu (...which does include at least one Japanese item).
I’ve judged student hackathons where none of the high school students (…or first-year post secondary students) had the guts to submit something as unreasonable as that.
This reads like the crappy “health and wellness startup” (vanity project) I worked on after I graduated.

Massive shitshow, vague requirements (both in the job and deliverables), think that they’re going to change the world with whatever product they’re building…
The Thanksgiving dinners from last Friday (with friends) and last night (with my partner).

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.
Passed by someone giving out Chick Tracts outside of a Skytrain station. They’re still a waste of paper, but it’s the first time I’ve seen them in-person after hearing about them online for the past 11 years.
Oh boy, memories! I remember watching Arachnophobia during a Grade 8 history class as a year-end treat, and we'd get jumpscared by all those spiders 😱
I’m happy to buy the occasional item for decor or function such as a Gura Nendoroid (my only one), a Wild Bill’s mug, or a tasteful UNIQLO graphic tee (like the one in my PFP).

But collecting merch isn’t something I can see myself doing, since I only have so much living space and dollars.
A financial one: Just because you love an anime, a game, or a character doesn’t mean that you should feel obligated to collect its merch.
Friends, #weebwednesday is upon us once again! You know the drill - quote-post with your weebiest hot takes, nothing racist, nothing intentionally inflammatory, have fun with it ♥

Watched a reel about Americans cosplaying as Canadians abroad and it’s making me wonder, “where in English-speaking Canada is French not taught as a language?”.

Even if you’re living in Vancouver, you should at least know a few French words or phrases to amuse (or horrify) Francophones.

i have an old laptop hooked up to my TV for playing videos and stuff and it literally doesn’t support Windows 11, what you want me to do?
An under-the-radar but huge story: in less than 2 weeks, Microsoft plans to end support for the Windows 10 operating system, which is currently used on 42% (!) of all PCs globally. Over 400 million computers will be vulnerable to hacks or destined for the dump if users don't pay up.
Microsoft Is Abandoning Windows 10. Hackers Are Celebrating.
The company will stop supporting the OS on October 14. Advocacy groups warn this will leave up to 400 million computers vulnerable to hacks or in the dump.

I have the same question as someone with a desktop PC that also doesn’t support Windows 11 (…and currently lacks budget for a new desktop).
Post-movie tiramisu cheesecake.
The movie was a mind screw (specifically what is “real”), but I’ve enjoyed it.
