Talking about movies, TV (Star Trek among others), fandom, my life, and most importantly, my cat. Was lionessblack on twitter. letterboxd: https://boxd.it/5fixN

Trip's in his underwear. 😊
Me: I'm going to watch some Star Trek. What Star Trek am I going to watch?

...y'all know what Star Trek I'm watching.
I've also seen a lot of people say that it terrified them. Maybe I'm less of a horror wimp than I thought? I know my gore tolerance is high, but there's horror stuff that SCARES me.

I saw the trailer for Dream Eater (I assumed the other likely option for surprise movie) and it looks fucking scary.
My surprise movie was Shelby Oaks! I hoped it was going to be this one. I'm a longtime Chris Stuckmann viewer, so I've been looking forward to this.

I wished I liked it more. It does some cool things, but I felt like something was missing. It's not a bad movie. Go see it and decide for yourself!
That is absolutely one of my favorite reveals and favorite Star Trek viewing moments. I love the memory of freaking out with @itsjorsh.bsky.social over this. We had to stop the episode and go back because we were missing things, and it's the series finale.
Just thinking about how there's a Star Trek character who grows up and turns into David Cronenberg.
The stinky scene is possibly the cringiest scene in the series, and that's saying something considering there's a whole cringe episode in season 2. Awful.

I don't mind the drunk scene as much because it does feel like the kind of drunk conversation you'd have if you thought you were going to die.
Stop scrolling and post two characters that bring you happiness

(You knew it was going to be these two. I love them. They also bring me great despair. It's complicated.)
Did a little Christmas shopping. And anyone wanting to do a little Christmas shopping for me? Great option.
For the uninitiated I make and sell candles with unique and one of a kind scents.

Oh, and don't forget the salamander babies ...
"Well, why would you WANT to have a baby on Voyager?" It's their home? Their life? On the plotted course, this was going to be most of their lives. They were looking at 40+ years in the Delta quadrant before the finale events. Why WOULDN'T people be getting married and having kids?
In seven years, out of 140 something crew members, there was ONE marriage and ONE baby. Sure, some of those crew members are already married, aren't hooking up, but that's still only some. Neither Delaney sister got married on Voyager? Nobody else wants to have a baby?
It's explicitly said at the end of S5 that Naomi is the only child on board (pre-Borg kids), so there's only a small window for anyone else.

I can buy that 23rd century birth control is basically failproof, but no one else was trying? Tom and B'Elanna said were trying when they got pregnant.
I don't buy that in seven years in Delta quadrant there were only 2 babies born on Voyager, and one of those was Naomi Wildman, whose mother discovered she were already pregnant when she left Earth. NO ONE else on that ship got together and had a baby except Tom and B'Elanna?
I was rooting for the Mariners. I am sad that they aren't going to the World Series. That is what I wanted. That said, Blue Jays, you now have the chance to do the fucking funniest thing in 2025. Please win at America's past time, Canada.
Bring back my Nicole Kidman time, AMC.
I love this so much. Every time they cut down the Nicole Kidman video, I'm going to repost this (AMC sent Lionsgate a cease and desist over this! Obviously, it's still all over YouTube).

Scott Derrickson, do you just need someone to tell you it's OK to make a whole movie on Super 8? You should do it. I know you want to.
I took my big rings off to wahs my hands before I left and left them sitting by the sink. Boo. Also, not a big deal.
The AWS outage is affecting like 2% of my work functionality, but it's a really annoying 2%.
Hey, guess what I had a dream about after watching directly before going to bed? It wasn't like a nightmare. Just a creepy dream.
Watching The Black Phone Kill Count to refresh my memory before seeing the sequel tomorrow. I saw it right after it came out on streaming.
