Having some technical difficulties still, but I'll should be around most of the day tomorrow. Nothing alarming, just side effects from today and my bed is way out of adjustment so I need some help from the family.

Thanks for chatting today!

Nemesis The Warlock would be a great setting for the right group. I was hoping it would appear with more 2000AD settings wvhen EN Publishing was releasing it. Totally different than most of the rank and file sword and sorcery, but similarities as well.

I read lots of Slaine while prepping for the TTRPG right after it got published, but I never did get to run the game. I enjoyed lots of Pat Mills. I still need to finish up Charley's War and Requiem eventually.

I really liked his book, gave me loads of respect for everything the British creators were doing to create & make their marks on comic industry, despite editorial and subpar pay rates

Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave - Patt Mills is a great study of 2000AD by a founding voice at 2000AD as well!

I highly recommend recent or memorable comic-based non-fiction reads like Understanding Comics, Do Gods Wear Capes, Comics and Sequential Art, Voyage in Noise,

If you haven't watched it yet, there is an astounding documentary from 2017 called Future Shock that features Paul Goodwin's unique deep dive take on 2000AD and its development for 37 years. Future Shock was free on YouTube, still should be available! Very much worth a watch.

I had the first Cabalistic, Inc. novel, a long time ago, and it was a heck of a good time as well, I will try and get them all in digital if nothing else. I'm never cash liquid during one of the big 2000AD bundle sales.

I was hit harder by neuro activity than I thought, so I'm getting back to you way later than I expected, Chris!

I've read and enjoyed Cabalistic, Inc., but not Absalom and I didn't know there was a CI complete collection. I'll try and grab it on a post Christmas sale or something.

Happy birthday to #paleontologist Mary Anning (1799 – 1847)! She was the wrong class, sex & religious denomination to gain the education, opportunity to work & communicate her results or garner any respect as a pioneering paleontologist. Further, during her lifetime many thought the Earth…

The fact that top Republicans are already fearmongering about, lying about, the No Kings rallies this Saturday, across the US, tells you how worried they are about public pressure and protest against their reactionary, autocratic, anti-American agenda.

For the #printerSolstice2425 prompt silicon my #linocut of brilliant trailblazing US #geologist & prof Florence Bascom (1862-1945) 🧪🐡👩🏼‍🔬⚒️ #histsci who championed women’s education, & used polarizing microscopes for detailed petrographic analysis to show that rocks previously identified as sedimentary🧵
My linocut portrait of geologist Florence Bascom as a young woman from neck up, in blue, looking at the viewer with her curly hair pulled back wearing a blouse with large lace collar on green vinyl. Behind her are two geological cross-sections with layers carved with different patterns to indicate different rock materials in black. Below on either side are two circular diagrams: these are thin sections of rhyolite printed in pale beige, brown, and black.

Happy #PortfolioDay!
I'm Irving and I write and do layout for TTRPGs!

I've worked with Evlyn Moreau on Dead Orbit Mall and I do most of my own layout work. I hope to work with you in the future!

Website: jellyfishlines.carrd.co
Games: jellyfishlines.itch.io
A vaporwave cover for Dead Orbit Mall. The palette has a focus on pinks, blues, and yellows. The background is a rich deep purple. There is a girl in the center with a side shave and a keytar wearing roller skates. There are blue seagulls that go into a face on the lower right. The middle left has a statue with geiger-esque vibes with the eyes blotted out by a rectangle. Above that is a satellite in pinks and yellows. Evlyn Moreau's name is written in yellow at the top. A sideways view of a city skyline. The text reads "The city I love, it speaks to me. By Irving Benitez" The lower text reads "Built on Caltrop Core". The cover for Townies, reminiscent of the classic Great Gatsby cover but with risograph texture. The art is by my friend Andrew (@andrewbeauman on bluesky). It is a bright gold leaning yellow cover with deep teal/steel blue accents. The text fade reads TOWNIE(S) from black to teal. The face looks to the side while the bridge and city sit below. The star above the city looks like a beauty mark or teardrop.
Below in the ground of the image reads "presented by Irving Benitez".
