It’s a mess, as usual business people are shoving the new thing into everything for no reason, also before long it will just live in a desktop box for certain things and no normal person will pay a subscription for it, if one single person is smart and can market the thing
I’m a programmer in a field as separate as things get these days, and idk. It’s hard to untangle who is getting AI money, because lots of large companies are using that revenue to ballast their other divisions, and even without that I think a loooot of people are going to lose non-AI work soon
Also upsettingly, if you talk to people who interview recent grads, it’s pretty tough to find people with C++ knowledge—a language upon which basically everything is currently effectively running, if you yanked away abstractions. It is very easy to find graduate students with an AI concentration.
Also: sometimes I don’t want to answer the door because of who is there…mostly *people who you and I would both not want to know we were home, I’m sure you can think of some people*
🤷‍♀️ Ideologically I get what you’re saying. It also doesn’t send video to cops, it’s a one-time cost instead of paying a tech company every month, I’m a (queer, trans) woman who lives alone who now knows when my packages are there, it caught a tree falling on my house so I knew about that, etc

my woke take is that entirely too many people feel entitled to the benefits of a social contract while not feeling bound by the responsibilities of said contract
Honestly as someone who owns a different brand that stores video locally, it’s nice sometimes (sorry). Now Flock and other shit that is purely meant to help police surveil people/that can track cars moving around a city etc…yike
There is no mention of that, that would be a dumb point compared to millions of real protestors, I genuinely think she thought it was real, and there are literally people in the comments saying they didn’t realize it was AI until they saw the comments
I mean, the whole thing proves a leftist point: more people are against fascism than for it, and yet Democrats keep fumbling elections by saying “Well we can’t not have the fascists or say mean things about them.”

my hot take is today is about showing maybe millions of people how it’s fun to say fuck the government
You’re not a serious person if you believe that, but this site will be dead in a year, so, whatever and also bye
We are literally in a thread about someone whose work constitutes medical misinformation, a sub-thread of which is about fed accounts that are trolling people with/whose stated goals are fascist abuses, and no they do not
Bluesky: where promoting genocide, medical misinformation, and Nazi propaganda is fine, just don’t screenshot post around a block or else
I mean. Surgeons are better now vs. in the 90s, insurance is much more likely to cover it (at least mostly), and people being normal to you is much less fucking stressful.
Anywho our whole Nazi government just logged onto this site after her saying she wants that on here, after months of her saying she wants that in interviews. Where’s the mystery
That’s a bad policy, he’s promoting the things *on this platform, which actively hurts a core group of the people who made this platform popular*, and it’s incredibly obviously not a death threat

Anyway, block, ignore, talk football.

The reason they're coming after this place is because they can't control the people on it and it drives them nuts.
I…one is meth directly and the one with fewer side effects is meth via a series of roundabouts. There’s no functional difference other than longer and less pronounced versus NOW
He’s the fucking governor not their dad
Hey so he’s going to say state cops doing this is bad, right? Because otherwise it’s just agreeing with authoritarianism, a thing that is very obvious
