hm interesting. there's a small chance they're doing a UX optimization if you have previously sign in to that account in this browser instance. you could test the theory by either clearing site data for google.com or trying in a different browser.

My MacBook (M4 Air) keeps crashing while its sleeping. At least I think that is what's happening bc when I resume it, I need my password and all my apps relaunch.

What is the best way to troubleshoot this? Trying to avoid reinstalling macOS which is what everything suggests.

You should only see a selector if the passkeys are for different accounts at the website. If you don't have 2 Square accounts, this is an issue with their implementation.

This is a fun macOS bug. If you have delta.com installed as a PWA via Safari, you can't sign in to the Delta SkyClub Wi-Fi because it tries to invoke the PWA on the redirect, and you get stuck in the captive network assistant.

‼️ On SNAP, very significant here:

A federal judge rules that the Trump admin is "required" to spend the $5.5 billion in contingency funds to pay SNAP benefits.

But there will still be a gap in benefits; she gave the admin until Nov. 3 to share if/how they will issue payments.
