Whilst it is always good to have tutorials, the reasons this post is needed relate to the deep, deep flaws in how to achieve very basic things in WordPress

If you don't want Prime Minister Farage to be able to have greater control over whether you or your less privileged neighbour can work, get benefits or access healthcare then you don't want a mandatory ID scheme.

Some thoughts on the Quiet Revival.

Listening to the Quiet Revival
The so-called Quiet Revival has been underway (quietly) for quite a while. Here's a few reflections on it and some questions about it.

I shall be listening to the Last Night of the Proms on Radio 3 rather than watching on the TV. There are fewer flags on the radio.

Well not quite. It had bishops whenever the Church of Scotland had bishops long after the reformation. The last bishop in St Mungo's was John Paterson who was removed in 1689. The Reformation happened in 1560.

Your weekly reminder that voter "concern" with immigration doesn't correspond to actual immigration levels.

It corresponds to the amount of coverage the media gives immigration.

This an entirely self-fulfilling mess, and it is entirely pointless.

Last week was his feast day, the day he was arrested for helping to register black voters — Today marks the day he was martyred, 60 years ago. Blessed Jonathan Myrick Daniels, pray for us.

On this day, the Church remembers Jonathan Myrick Daniels, a seminarian who gave his life during the civil rights movement. His sacrificial courage calls all of us to stand where Jesus stands—in solidarity with the oppressed in our community, and in our world.

A b&w image of Jonathan Myrick Daniels with the following text surrounding the picture:

MAKE NO PEACE WITH OPPRESSION

"O GOD OF JUSTICE AND
COMPASSION, WHO PUTS DOWN THE PROUD AND MIGHTY FROM THEIR PLACE, AND LIFTS UP THE POOR AND THE AFFLICTED: WE GIVE YOU THANKS FOR YOUR AITHFUL WITNESS JONATHAI MYRICK DANIELS, WHO, IN THE MIDST OF INJUSTICE AND VIOLENCE, RISKED AND GAVE HIS LIFE FOR ANOTHER; AND WE PRAY THAT WE, FOLLOWING HIS EXAMPLE, MAY MAKE NO PEACE WITH OPPRESSION; THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR, WHO LIVES AND REIGNS WITH YOU AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, ONE GOD, FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN."

📢 Teachers, have you read the Scottish Government’s Guidance on LGBT Inclusive Education?

This facilitates an educational approach to addressing prejudice and ensuring all learners and families are included in your curriculum.

Our explainer covers key content & information about the national CPD.

Transphobia - whether from the right or left and whether disguised as feminist or not - will always close down the field of what is acceptable for women and girls. So-called bio essentialism always leads to the boxing in of options for women and girls.
judgedewie.bsky.social
The Daily Mail (sadly someone posted it) are running a large article about girls playing football who keep getting abuse from other girls and also parents because they say they are boys - because they have short hair. Transphobia harms all women and girls. And the Daily Mail is part of the problem.

Just installed the new oss model from Open AI locally and it is producing wildly mad hallucinations about things I know about.

It isn't a matter of what I think. Sola Scriptura means regarding the Bible as the sole (usually infallible) guide to life and doctrine for a Christian.
Whilst some Anglicans believe this, many demonstrably don't. And aren't required to.
thurible.net
That's not what sola scriptura means. Sola scriptura covers far more than just where you draw the limits on any doctrine of salvation.
(As @peternimmo.bsky.social will well know).

The 1928 book is still authorised but I'm unaware of it being used for ordinations in modern times.
thurible.net
No. They don't. They do not find their articulation anywhere near the ordination of clergy in the Scottish Episcopal Church.

They were imposed upon us once at the Synod of Laurencekirk but they've been gone for decades and are not coming back.

Again, thank God.
thurible.net
No Peter, it isn't true. Some churches of the Anglican Communion don't have the 39 Articles.
Thank God.
