Here's what I know: I was there for two sustained protest movements. Every time it came back, it was bigger, more determined, and more sophisticated. We may only be one catalyst from bringing the third movement that forces hands and sets off a chain of events that breaks fascism.

That may be the final test that separates the true believers from all the MAGA hangers on because nobody outside of a sunk cost fallacy poster child would fall for it. So you're going to see this movement distilled to its most unhinged essence.

They used conspiracy theories about a shadowy elite so they could take over "the racket" and all they're doing is showing they had no real concept of how to actually govern, either as effective tyrants or as benevolent elected officials. They're just bad at everything.

A lot of that work details a supposed elite plot to manipulate markets through engineered financial crises to shock and stun people into obedience. Thing is now with the conspiracy right in power they might see that as a blueprint for their own power grab. But it's a stupid idea.

After looking at Trump's disaster capitalism it almost looks like his team of right-wing conspiracy nuts thought the conspiracy hoax "Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars" was an instruction manual for seizing power. If so they really are sticking a fork in a toaster.

If we could sustain this over days, weeks, or months, this level of protest that might achieve some results. But only by sustaining it. Be warned, when you sustain your protest, that's when the state becomes violent. They're nervous in Portland and Chicago because those small protests are sustained.

My mid-century aesthetic is based on photorealism. It's as rich as Wes Anderson's worlds but relies less on artifice and more on showing the world as it is, but from that one angle that perfectly preserves the vibe you want. That hospital for example. Looks like a generic 70s European hospital.

The new Germany was always going to be a place where tolerance pushed the comfort of people who are afraid of change and play up any misdeed of the group they don't like to make them seem like a hostile invading army. Each time it's pushed back, the tide of progress rises higher the next time.
