Also i was pretty sure Sakura was a ghost but normal people can see her and interact with her? So idk probably not then??? Idk her deal. Shes kind of used to give Nene exposition and also be one of the antagonists.

I don't know if you've followed the sprinkling of undead here and there but I am fond of characters avoiding their eternal naptime.
I found a manga a few years ago and immediately was drawn to it. It's everything I would have wanted in a book as a teen. It's of course Hanako!

By that I mean, Toilet-bound Hanako-kun.
I'm in love with the art style, so I must show off the illustration book. Strongly recommend if you love to stare at the art for ages. There are a few 'spooky' pages mixed with the cutesy ones of course.

Just flick through and stare... entranced and happy.

So I've started my day sat reading the spinoffs that the series has and theyre oddly wild.
After school has the whole cast doing your generic side story things: playing games and trying to kill one another. Ya know, the usual without rigid plot.
0 on the other hand? Well....

Hanako 0 is weird. Really weird. It has an alternate reality version of events with the characters similar to themselves but not. Then half the book is this whole other story about necromancy and fighting monsters. Also as usual, possessive characters i guess.

I forgot to add: After school had a Mokke cornering Nene... as I said, usual shenanigans.

This series oddly includes time travel, the butterfly effect and general existential dread but its art and characters are definately a good teen read.

Literally i would have loved this when i were a teen.. OTL

It has a very comedic tone mixed with a dark meaty plot that goes here there and everywhere with ghosts having specific realms of their own so their own logic and rules.
A lot of characters either die or are already dead but you feel attachment to every single one. Even the evil gremlin (Tsukasa)

Tbhk is generally about shenanigans revolving around ghosts and supernatural entities within a school... until it becomes outside of school too ... but thats by the by lol

where you can flip a page and feel like they missed information or a panel but it is indeed the next page.

I feel like there was some info cut in the manhua but its still a good way to get someone into the story.

As I said, the art is very beautiful and gives some scenes more weight or comedy

I decided to reread mdzs but the manhua form during spooky season: for the obvious reason of the walking dead.

I love #mdzs and the depths of it's story and mysteries and the art here is fantastic. The only gripe i have is the pacing, not for the time jumps but-
