After trying to explain what all surrounds this clip there was still confusion in the chat. Once something out-of-context like that gets picked up it's just... shared everywhere. It's out of control. You get hundreds, if not thousands barking at your internet doorstep about some shit they don't know

Had a moment last week where someone in a server I'm in shared a video of this streamer allegedly shocking his dog- he didn't. Some guy who streams politics all day has thousands of people running around smearing him with baseless accusations. This is a great video!!

Now everyone's got a phone, everyone screenshots everything, everyone's recording you online and offline. Everyone is up each other's ass. Some weaponize the public catalogues of our collective existence on the internet for weird smears. "Being Online" is a job for some and they've got no protection

Chris Chan's popularity has ultimately been a net negative and the consequences of archiving random people's entire lives online have already played out. It consistently leads to harassment and stalking- escalating to violence in some cases. Cheap tabloid culture was bad enough offline.
