It's great to see this guy continue to get kicked.

I just wish that this truly would send him into ruin and irrelevance. It's annoying that he keeps chugging along while owing literally over a billion dollars.

Fuck off forever, Jones.

Got it! Had a really lucky run where I was able to take out the snipers fast with the trap tools + longpin tosses.

I'm not sure you could find many contemporaries worse than him, honestly. He was a REALLY bad guy.

He wasn't even revered until a weird push in the 20th century for it!

I am fighting it now. You are so right. This battle would already be really hard without the disappearing floor, but that just makes it frustrating. Multiple times, all the ground has been gone under me.

Remember that moment in X-Men '97 when Rogue threw Captain America's shield into the mountains?

heh... That was a good moment.

Years ago, I got into an argument with a person so insistent that judging Columbus by modern standards was unfair; that we shouldn't bring modern ideologies to our view of the past.

Firstly: Terrible argument. We absolutely can/should do that.

Secondly: He was known to be terrible at the time!!

Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.
But too many of the slaves died in captivity. And so Columbus, desperate to pay back dividends to those who had in-vested, had to make good his promise to fill the ships with gold. In the province of Cicao on Haiti, where he and his men imagined huge gold fields to exist, they ordered all persons fourteen years or older to collect a certain quantity of gold every three months. When they brought it, they were given copper tokens to hang around their necks. Indians found without a copper token had their hands cut off and bled to death.
The Indians had been given an impossible task. The only gold around was bits of dust garnered from the streams. So they fled, were hunted down with dogs, and were killed. After each six or eight months' work in the mines, which was the time required of each crew to dig enough gold for melting, up to a third of the men died.
While the men were sent many miles away to the mines, the wives remained to work the soil, forced into the excruciating job of digging and making thousands of hills for cassava plants.
Thus husbands and wives were together only once every eight or ten months and when they met they were so exhausted and depressed on both sides... they ceased to pro-create. As for the newly born, they died early because their mothers, overworked and fam-ished, had no milk to nurse them, and for this reason, while I was in Cuba, 7000 children died in three months. Some mothers even drowned their babies from sheer desper-ation.... In this way, husbands died in the mines, wives died at work, and children died from lack of milk ... and in a short time this land which was so great, so powerful and fer-tile... was depopulated... My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature, and now I tremble as I write....

Gotta love those huge shoulders!

Still my favorite Mario voice! (with all due respect to Charles Martinet. I just love Albano's Brooklyn-Italian take on the character. Also, Danny Wells is my favorite Luigi!)

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I just fought that one last night, but I had accidentally slipped that while section early on. So by the time I got to it, I had a lot more moves, items, etc, than I would have if I'd found it earlier.

Can't stand that guy's writing.

So jazzed to have all the Studio Series '86 Constructicons!

This team of villains was always my favorite set of Transformers. I love their individual personalities, live that these construction vehicles were cast as bad guys of destruction, and Devastator is the coolest combiner!
The Constructicons! Scrapper, Hook, Mixmaster, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, and Scavenger. Posed in their robot modes. The Constructicons! Scrapper, Hook, Mixmaster, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, and Scavenger. All in their vehicle modes. The Constructicons, merged to form Devastator! Devastator aiming his gun at the camera

I also started C4.

It wasn't the fault of C3 that I fell off; I just got busy with other things. But the Abridged format offers a nice way to catch up. And if I change my mind, I can always switch back to the full version episodes.

Trying out Critical Role Abridged on their Beacon streaming service. I fell behind on Campaign 3 around episode 84, and I would like to finish it.

Oh, I guess I was conflating memories! I thought for sure it was the SMB2 era fruit snacks (though they probably overlapped a bit, too).

But yeah, "find the blue Princess" contest!
