Oooh, I'm on the lookout for a good pattern for my next project. I can't wait to see what your one looks like once it's all stitched up and wearable!

"guilt is not an ingredient"?

But thank you, I think I’ll need to play with some settings.

I realised I was accidentally using Safari, so I switched to DuckDuckGo and that doesn’t have the problem!

This latest iPhone update is bad. Sticking the translucent address bar over the bottom of the page where it makes content/buttons inaccessible is not a good idea.

Brought a couple of pincushions upstairs into the house because I blocked a jersey over the weekend. Was just working on stitching in the sleeves. I tend to sit cross-legged on the couch. Unbeknownst to me, one of the pincushions had tumbled to the floor.
A 3” darning needle alerted me. #OwOwOw 🪡 🦶🩸

I got assaulted by one once whilst waiting for the train on a sunny day. Apparently the back of my bare leg looked like I tree, so it jumped in and started climbing. It took a lot of convincing that there was nothing it wanted under my skirt. 😅

Can you describe it for me please?

I’m about to head out for a quick walk, but when I get back I have to do another one of my assignments, so please, share with me your favourite facts about wētā.

As always, I have my assigned sources to work from, I just like hearing what you think is cool about them. 🙏

Hang on, why has the thought I was about to post got your name on it?

(I have a block of 50% chocolate and some cocoa powder)

My mum managed to keep her number when she moved from the place we’d lived since 1984 into her retirement village in 2013. The number had acquired three extra digits in the meantime…
We got rid of our landline after she got rid of her.
(There’s no phone can reach her now though.)

You are one of the very few people I’ve assumed to be younger than me who turns out to be older!
You did justice to the 80s, that’s a lovely photo.

Fool it. Go to the hardware/plumbing store. Look at them. Get a quote for one.

Hopefully that'll be enough to bring it out of hiding. Because you know as soon as you drop some $$ on the new one it's turning up.

Has no one told them they are an at-risk species???

Speaking of which, did you know that there is a tuatara tick. It only lives on tuatara, so it is also an at-risk relict species?
thesewphist.bsky.social
I don't know how common it is... just that it is known to happen!

Three new mandamals came into existence today.
understatesmen.bsky.social
down an internet rabbit hole reading about "Mandamals", or "Mandela Animals", as in the mandela effect. Which is to say, animals that everybody pretends have always existed but YOU know only came into existence recently due to shifting reality because you'd never heard of them
thesewphist.bsky.social
Basically... After mating, the female incubates the eggs internally for a few months, and then lays them in a hole, buries them, and that's her maternal duties done. They hatch months later.

Tuatara feed on pretty much anything smaller than themselves.

Baby tuatara are smaller than adult tuatara.

It is the greatest. I learnt about Gaur from Bluesky. Utter units.
Gaur walking across the road in front of a bus. It could destroy with a look. Or with its gigantic muscles and remarkable speed.

I think this hyrax would get on well with my kitty Pīata... She often has the same "really?" look.

Have you met the hyrax, the animal that *always* looks like it's tired of humanity's shit?
A hyrax. Looks like a big-ass hamster-like thing that's constantly pissed off. A hyrax. Looks like a big-ass hamster-like thing that's constantly pissed off. A hyrax. You probably don't want to know about tuatara then...
