I remember coming home from playing outside all day as a kid in LA in the 70's, and my bare arms would smell like the black smoke you'd see coming out of school buses.

I’ve been working from home for about 5 years. There are dips in my productivity that seem related to needing to get out of the house more often. At my best, I’m going for a walk almost daily and hitting the gym 3x/week. Also good to get a coffee or lunch with someone 1 or 2x/week.

I remember one of my friends having this this Horror Movies book. Rulers of Britain was in my dad’s library, and Amphigorey was another friend’s book that I liked so much, I got one for my birthday from him shortly after.

I feel inclined to hoard as many books as possible. I figure if books continue to be made, they are gradually going to be polluted with AI bullshit, so I’d like to have a good stockpile to survive with.
