He was living in his car, one of the working homeless. I took him in to help him get back on his feet. He was 6 months behind on rent when I decided to cut the cord. He got the diagnosis the next day.

What could I do? He had nobody else. So I toughed it out with him for the next 10 months.

I've been through the Hospice at home thing. Took care of a friend with throat cancer for 10 months.

FYI, there is a liquid Vicodin that's very effective for breakthrough pain. I've seen it work wonders, especially when combined with 72 hr. fentanyl patches.

The 1st BBS, CBBS, went live in Chicago January of '78, during a brutal blizzard.

U.S. Robotics, a Chicago company that dominated the modem market throughout the dial-up days, made it possible.

This was the beginning of the Net culture we know today.
