Got asked by someone if this train is heading north. No one knows where or what Lynnwood is. Sound Transit should really put directional names on its signage (northbound, southbound).

Both sides of a conflict are calling each other evil and corrupt, rendering me, a humble journalist, helpless to discern the truth. Best I can do is let you know that both sides are in fact saying those things. Hope this helps

Dear Toronto: We will stop scoring runs this game if Doug Ford agrees to stop tearing out bike lanes. Until then, the runs will continue.

SB 79 does not apply to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland. Please stop wasting my time with such foolish inquiries.

With the average new car at $50,000, let's look at the real costs of "freedom":

✅ Decades of debt
✅ Social isolation for every trip
✅ A leading cause of death & injury

Car dependency is a financially and socially crippling system, not a choice.

Yes! And reminder that blinky lights are for emergency vehicles only and you should always use SOLID lights on your bike.

Time to start planning your bike lights for the darker months. Have fun with it. You'd be amazed at how much joy it brings to your ride.

These things are just sitting there with gravity? They're not even bolted down?

Imagine if this got knocked into the vehicle lane. My guess is it would be fixed in 2 hours

this bike lane has been blocked for two weeks. it has been reported many times by many people by the Find It Fix It app and by phone. I bet if it was a car lane @seattledot.bsky.social would have fixed it by now

🚨BREAKING🚨: Portland Frog receives Nobel Peace Prize.

Yes! And there is a small section that was paved for one block next to a big industrial building, maybe as a required frontage improvement. The rest is in design and seeking construction funding, no estimated timeline.

When Republicans are pre-butting a pro-democracy rally like No Kings and making shit up left and right to scare people, you know they're losing and in panic mode.

Pedal to the floor.

Before this project there was no fence between the road and abandoned railroad tracks so I'm not sure why it was necessary now. The chain link is ugly and hems you in for two-thirds of a mile. With no easy escape routes it could be a safety problem.

Some more photos of the route. It's probably the only overbuilt bike facility in Seattle, with two-way paths on both sides of the street on the south end.

West Seattle bike commuters: The off-street trail on Marginal Way is finally open! It truly does make the ride safer and more comfortable, really appreciate all the people that made it happen. Still gotta plug your ears for train horns at Atlantic Street, though.

This is working despite no one staffing the vehicle entrance off 1st Avenue anymore. Seems that driver behaviors have already changed. It might also help that apparently Google Maps doesn't suggest turning into there and the other side streets are blocked by construction.

It's a rainy weekday in October and Pike Place is as busy as any sunny summer weekend. I think the disappearance of non-essential car traffic is a huge help. This setup should be made permanent.

The forecast for NYC on October 18 looks ideal for being outside with your fellow Americans, btw.
