Shout out to the Naked Bikeride who today ran hundreds of naked people directly through the line of federal officers and effectively blocked them from assaulting demonstrators. Being naked on a bike goes on the list of effective tactics if you get at least 500 of them and the city loves you.

Gideon was kind of as establishment as they come as well. But yah like it’s a very normal reasonable thing to do and like hopefully Platner wins and then the Dems will back him. That’s how it works lol.

The theory of the case here is that Platner being a down the line liberal will play well politically because he is an outsider who opposes the entrenched Dem party.

And then you complain when the entrenched Dem party opposes him? Thats like his whole deal! It’s what theoretically makes him strong!

I don’t really think it’s true the Dem establishment hasn’t backed Mamdani, but also the two New York politicians who haven’t endorsed him should and it is bad and a stain on the party that they have not. But it’s also almost entirely about intra New York Dem party politics.

She is obviously the best establishment candidate they have (which is why the establishment is bad and the guy who is a small town harbor master has a shot to beat it).

Seems pretty reasonable for the establishment to desire the establishment candidate enter the race (I hope she loses and I also wish that the establishment had been able to produce a younger candidate. The fact that they can’t is why I hope the insurgent wins).

I would like Platner to beat Mills in the primary for those reasons more or less. But it’s absurd to like an insurgent and then demand that the insurgent be handed the nomination without having to win the nomination against the establishment.

The Dem establishment is going to back Mills over the absolute phenom outsider Platner in Maine, which tells you everything you need to know about how well they understand the current moment & how prepared they are to meet it.

For a lot of people there is comfort in their being a right answer (and this holds even if you don’t know what the right answer is). CharGPT offers those folks the illusion of a right answer they can look up for ~everything.

ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

Three points for a win and one for a draw should fix it more or less but soccer coaches and nfl coaches have some key things in common when it comes to actually being smart about taking risks to win (in that they mostly aren’t).
