funny anecdote, I wasn't even really into video games until I got hold of my cousin's PSP and played his copy of Persona 3, back in 2007 or so. it was the first time a game had ever given me a choice to play as a girl, where it actually mattered. #persona #persona3

We'll eventually have to make the enemies less prone to wandering into killzones, but the effectiveness of such tactics is working more or less as intended. The idea is you should be flanking and picking your movements carefully - you can and will be shot down even while lining up your shot.
Got UI and sound effects implemented. Hopefully this small showcase gets the idea of the *basic* TRPG gameplay loop across, but there'll be way more toys and mechanics implemented later for sure. Melee and E-warfare in particular. #GameDev #IndieDev #godot #Devtober #Mecha #lowpoly #Heavensfall

Still, all that heart can make one vulnerable. There may come times when Yurushi finds it necessary to...use it a little. For good reasons, of course. And it's not like Crystal minds. In fact, maybe all she really wants is for her pretty robogirl crush to be perfect enough to tell her what to do?~
She's also a real disaster gremlin of an engineer, usually secluded in her workshop aboard the Pegasus Orbital Research Station. Though she's got a lot of heart, Crystal's way more cozy with machines than other people - small wonder she's a prodigy in her field.
Crystal is the perfect character to introduce the Bond mechanics for us. She's practically Yurushi's already best friend by the time Heavensfall takes place, aside from being her maintenance technician. She's...enthusiastic, about her job. #digitalart #indiedev #yuri #Heavensfall

What matters here is their shared bond as they navigate their circumstances, and what effect that bond will have on the player's experience - not just narratively, but mechanically. Bonds like this will form the cornerstone of the Slice of Life sections of Heavensfall, and give the TRPG context.
Crystal, one of the only Coalition engineers with the skills to handle Yurushi's maintenance on her own, is a more bubbly, earnest sort of person, contrasting nicely with her charge's icy, zen mien. Don't worry, I'll be going into more details with some individual character posts soon.
#Heavensfall is planned to have multiple character campaigns. The first of these will be from Yurushi's perspective, as the shining agent of the Empyrean Coalition, navigating cutthroat military politics, and coming to terms with her own dark purpose amidst the flames of revolution.

I think really the greatest loss in the great shortening of TV series across all countries is the complete erasure of slice of life/sitcom elements. Mecha was better when it was a slice of life too.
Lite's put together a way to look at things from the enemy AI's perspective. This setup briefly pauses itself as they move through their decision making process, letting us break it down step by step. #godot #indiedev #indiegamedev #heavensfall #mecha #mech #debug #gamedev
