A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

This talking point is so incredibly dishonest. A huge number of people who have Medicaid HAVE JOBS THAT DON’T PROVIDE INSURANCE.

Good. Every school should reject this garbage.

MIT became the first university to reject the Trump administration’s compact of demands, after its president Sally Kornbluth said the school already “meet or exceed many standards outlined” by the federal government.

Yeah thats a fun pack of lies there.

Also I like how COVID and flu vaccines are tucked in there like we haven’t been hearing they’re the devil for the last few years.

The Qatari Air Force facility isn’t worth a freak out. The base they’re going to use is commonly used for foreign pilots to train alongside our forces. Qatar bought these F15s like 10 years ago and will train with them in Idaho. It’s not a base owned and operated by them.

Again, the best way to understand rfk jr’s worldview is to combine an obsession with the distant past having been a healthier time with a kind of twisted Darwinism amounting to eugenics.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

Yeah the guy bombing random people in the Caribbean and sending the military to the streets in his own cities was never going to win the Nobel peace prize.

To give it to the Venezuelan opposition leader, while calling out authoritarianism…point taken.

This is utterly insane. Emergency medicine is not equipped to perform surgery, advanced specialty care, or conditions requiring more than a few hours of treatment. It’s not their training and it’s not what they are outfitted to do. Plus an “ER model” is not a viable financial strategy.

FLOOD: Here's the deal: Some hospitals that are rural hospitals are going to eventually have to transition from being acute bed hospitals into being an ER model

Vascular dementia progression is uneven and patient-dependent. One fairly common feature is decline in fits and starts, followed by periods of relative stability. Additional cerebrovascular events, like TIAs, accelerate the decline.

Apropos of nothing in particular.
