As someone who has two perfectly good PCs that happen to lack the magic "Make Windows 11 Work" chip on their mainboards, this is Very Good News.

Windows 10 officially ended support yesterday, but if you can't or haven't upgraded, you can enrol in the Extended Security Updates scheme for an additional year of protection. It's BARELY been mentioned but it exists, and the Home Edition price starts at free.

This scene from Trials and Tribble-ations, where O'Brien and Bashir can't figure out how to make the turbolift move, is their own personal Carnival Night Zone moment.
A scene from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Clad in Original Series uniforms, O'Brien and Bashir are in a turbolift trying to work out why it won't respond to voice commands.

Not pictured: O'Brien starts trying to make it move by bouncing with good timing but Bashir keeps throwing the rhythm off.

Balatro Gold Stake win yaaaas!

(And with a surprisingly minimalist setup, too.)
A Balatro game on the Boss Blind of ante 8, using the chequered deck. The Jokers being used are Blue Joker, Green Joker and Madness, which is at x6.5 Mult. The deck has 61 cards.

I RULE.

If there's such a thing as Zombie Simpsons, this latest Hulu batch is absolutely Frankenstein's Futurama.

That one movie reviewer would probably be stunned to know I just feel bad for it.

A chill end to my Sunday, listening to a @bigfinish.bsky.social audio while playing Minecraft and thinking "wow, they're really not holding back here with this Eternity Club arc, you have to work to figure out what Benny's doing here and why."

Then I realised I'd mistakenly started with part two. 🙃

That review in The Independent for GDT's Frankenstein has to be rage bait, right? No serious reviewer can be that lacking in media literacy or awareness of the source material...
Screengrab from the review of Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. Text reads 'Elordi plays the creature as a misunderstood, James Dean-like outsider with Oedipal issues rather than as an agent of evil and chaos. Even if his face and torso are latticed with suitably grotesque scars, staples and stitches, he is not only the most sympathetic character in the movie but the best-looking one too. It’s left to Oscar Isaac to provide the real villainy as the brilliant but egomaniacal scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who “fathers” the monster but then promptly disowns him.'

I don't get why Ant-Man doesn't just shrink down, fly up to Frankenstein, and...

I hear Frankenstein doesn't even fly until right near the end, smh

Nintendo, you're putting Luigi's Mansion on Nintendo Switch Online BEFORE Halloween, right?

...Right?

Is this the Rio Light?
This is just Fanta, see.
A can of Rio Light tropical drink and a bottle of Fanta orange drink mistakenly served to Freddie Mercury, perhaps.

It wasn't the first ever TV I had in my room but when I was 14 or so I somehow inherited a wood-panelled TV for myself to have in my room. The last time I ever had to regularly mess with horizontal and vertical hold knobs.

I loved that it felt like a device rather than an appliance, y'know?

I'm not sure if this presentation and packaging helps to sell the theme of natural order being corrupted, or if somebody just really wanted to thoroughly upset me.
Jeff VanderMeer's trilogy, vacuum-packed. The first novel is black and the title is lower-case. The second volume is yellow and the title is upper-case. The third volume is black and the title is lower-case, but it has also been packed upside-down.

I hate everything about this.
