Realized it while I was playing with that Lio Convoy, that even just playing with something without poseable hands feels limiting now. This sucks! Having to dig out parts and swap hands as opposed to just naturally moving them as I please is a chore now!!

Sometimes I do wonder if it was a bad idea switching from a few TFs and other cheap things a month to just one of these expensive fuckers every 3 or 4 months. But then I take some time to handle one of these and, yeah. Never going back to that method of collecting again.

Stupid that I've had this mindset of cheap things aren't worth buying because of how invasive the "buy thing because you know IP" style of collecting funkos encouraged, but never fully put into practice myself until the last 2 years.

started forcing myself to ONLY look at my hitbox and only vaguely keep aware of where a boss is and suddenly instantly I was dodging everything and was suddenly able to learn the patterns instead of just getting overwhelmed and smacked around

I haven't felt like this in a game for YEARS man

I think something clicked and I am suddenly legible at this genre because I dedicated a bunch of time to rewiring how I see the screen

like I learned how to play fighting games with 3S so I tend to look between characters onscreen, thus always staring mid screen

TF has been afraid of creativity for so long now, it's been either slavish G1 sunbow, cheap remakes of good toys, or chinese companies making violently greebled and over complicated takes. These are just genuinely fresh and cool designs. From Takara of all places. Has to be the Diaclone designers.

Keep thinking about how the main series lead being a huge toy guy and a huge OC guy who seemed to be in the games industry more to get toys of his OCs made than making games is probably why SRW was so fucking good for so long and is now just a shambling corporate husk 🙂

Like the amount of time the Alt and Weiss get remade or reimagined in various forms, or even the amount of times Kyosuke and Excellen get remade is crazy.

Actually really curious to know why the Impact stuff is what constantly gets remade and reworked in this franchise though. Like sensibly in this game it's an Einst core with human tech wrapped around it, but it's only one of numerous times Impact stuff shows up.

At the very least, the arm and spear modes both work great. The other joints are perfectly tight and hold up everything no issue. Poses great, no clearance or restrictions besides the elbows being a bit narrow due to the design. Makes it all the more frustrating, really.

Exceptionally frustrating because this is great. This looks amazing. But you need to gingerly pose it as specifically as possible to balance the weight of those back binders, because the broken joints cannot hold their weight. No reason they shouldn't have been normal plastic.
