I am completely dumbfounded by Labour’s reluctance to take on these people and to apply legal restraints to foreign interference in our politics and while I’m at it do something about GBNews! Does anybody have any sensible explanation for this reluctance?

Like Comey, she is going to have an array of lawyers that demolish the mopes who currently work at Trump's behest. And we should all be here for that.

Chris Christie: “Thie is no longer, the Department of Justice, is no longer the premier prosecuting office in America. What it is now is a capo regime who goes out and executes hits when directed by the Don to do so. That’s what it is.”

Speaking on Air Force One, President Donald Trump said that he doesn't think he's "heaven-bound" in response to a question about previous statements he had made about how brokering a possible peace deal between Ukraine and Russia could help him get into heaven.

Yep, the arguments imply a desire for knowledge and competence that few of us are prepared to pursue to their logical conclusions. Everyone just awkwardly points at a number in the late teens.

Your weird insecurities aside, you consistently lie that native born Americans can't and never have made clothes, and push offshoring in sleazy ways. Then when confronted you talk about your left wing views. You're slime.

I forgot about this incredible piece. I kind of like it. It has a conceptual coherence but utter madness that appeals to people like me who like economic theory. [I mean obvs I am not in favour].

My dude I don't work for the BoE any more. This is not a piece about monetary policy. If you don't think politics affects growth then you don't understand growth.

Aghion and Howitt *is* macro, very consciously in the Lucas/Sargent tradition. It's the same tradition that birthed the DSGE models Howitt criticises in this piece, but it's interesting nonetheless that he does so. I'll need to read it properly to try to reconcile this.

t0nyyates.bsky.social
Hardly needs saying that the Aghion-Howitt's incentives/institutions theoretical work has a lot to say implicitly about the effects of undermining property rights and the rule of law, which Trump's corrupt regime is doing in spades.
t0nyyates.bsky.social
Mokyr's work recognised here is about how prevailing beliefs about science, religion, human behaviour, social progress affect the accumulation and use of knowledge. Trump's regime is a disaster for this, promoting anti science and extreme religious views and stifling dissent.
t0nyyates.bsky.social
Anyone who thinks today's Nobel has nothing to do with what Trump is doing is a moron and I explain why in the piece.

Strong agree. I do wonder about say being able to say 'how fast am i going can you check the speed limit how far is the turn off' etc and getting audio responses.
