This was a really fun conversation with @nieaufgehenderrest.bsky.social

working on a translation of Julius Schaxel’s “Das biologische Individuum” (1930) on the natural-historical emergence of ‘the individual’ & the possibility of thinking its concept—by distinguishing it from individuality & dissolving the individual back into its constituent relations & movements!

We celebrated Mary Shelley in Bath, in Bath itself! Thank you @fionasampson.bsky.social and @waterstonesbath.bsky.social for helping us to bring her words back to life. We can’t wait to see them resurrected on screen too - roll on #frankenstein by @realgdt.bsky.social later this month! 💙📚#booksky

Pretty much the exact view Mary Shelley would have had of Jacob's Ladder on the facade of Bath Abbey from her window as she wrote chapter 4 of #Frankenstein in 1816. Note the stone angels ascending and descending... @realgdt.bsky.social we can’t wait to see this played out on screen too! 💙📚#booksky

1/ I'm excited to share that Franz Knappik’s and my Cambridge Element on Hegel and Colonialism is finally out – open access below! We trace how Hegel defends European colonial rule, including transatlantic slavery, and how that defence runs through his entire philosophical system.
