My favourite Beach Boys album, such a weird treat

The "master race" can't find suits that fit them.

Were they ICE agents at his rally last summer? That seems unlikely.

Ah man RIP D’Angelo, the very best to do it. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen was on the Black Messiah tour, at Hammersmith, the band just killed it, 15 minutes of Sugah Daddy was not enough.

I mean tbf he worked under a different name (and also he's been fairly anti-Greg since before Flag split iirc)

What is most enraging is that in reality if you break the law you don't face consequences, at least not if you're Trump or anyone who followed his lead to ransack the Capitol on Jan 6th

I bang on about this a lot: I think the combination of a global pandemic, underregulated internet/SM, collapse/corruption of trustworthy media, plus now unregulated genAI, is a wildly toxic environment for radicalisation & mental health. We see the results of that in our politics & lives every day

Everyone knows at least one person (normally, but not exclusively, a guy) whose gone properly mental due to net rabbit holes.

We see public figures regularly go mad and destroy themselves.

And we have, at a policy level, just decided to put our fingers in our ears and go nahnahnah

Last night I heard of another friend of a friend who has been lost to a rabbit hole of online propaganda. We need to start treating this as a serious public health concern.

I find this stuff (the museum director's take, not op's, obviously) so goddamn annoying. Were Lithuanians supposed to keep Lenin statues up? Were Iranians meant to not topple statues of the Shah?

'I don’t think it’s ever a good idea to deny history. I think it’s always really important to face your own history honestly ...'

Toppling statues is an act of protest. It's about contesting a collective memory. NEVER about denying history.

Reclamation is as close as Fugazi got to dub imo. Might be my favourite of their songs.

It's one of my favourites of theirs, tbh - I like the muted, downbeat feel of a lot of it. But it definitely doesn't have the production standards of, say, The Argument or End Hits.

It turns out that protecting hate speech did not create the conditions to protect other kinds of speech; instead, it protected hate and allowed hate movements to take over all the institutions of that might have defended the rest of us.

It's hard to help Americans left behind because so much of US identity is rooted in individualism. The average American conservative holds all three positions at once:

— Virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— Against raising the minimum wage
— Buys foreign imports because they're cheap
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "I'm willing to pay more for quality products if they are made in America, by Americans, who are paid a decent income." The tweet shows Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting, which is often used to show the tweeter is expressing a brave opinion. HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "MINIMUM WAGE JOBS WERE NOT MEANT TO BE A CAREER. Why does no one understand this? Entry level jobs are STEPPING STONES to better jobs. No one wants to work towards that though." HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "Buy $5 gloves instead of $50 ones. Trust me." The tweet shows a box of "Gorilla Grip" gloves. The label on Gorilla Grip gloves show they're made in China.
