This game genuinely knocked me out of my depressive state I've been in for months, and partially fixed my 4 month long RSI issue. For that, I cannot thank it enough. What a fucking video game.

Music is genuinely off the charts. In a year with two Falcom releases it's definitely the best OST of the year and it's not even close

The best cast in a Pokémon game by a country mile

Everyone has charm, charisma, their own little quirks and tendencies, and best of all, actual stories!!! There's motivations and decisions being made!!!! Wow!!!!!

Traversal is fucking siiiiiiiiiiiick

The schmovement you can do with the glide and the more fluid roll and faster run feels so nice. Genuinely not having a jump button for such a vertical game feels like a bad idea but it results in needing to figure out every obstacle like a puzzle and it rules

Battle gameplay feels really tight. It has some problems, but overall it feels like Yakuza 7 in the sense of like they're trying something entirely different and did a really goddamn good job at it considering it's such a radical shift from what they usually do

Hope they expand upon this!

The story is astoundingly well done. Pokémon's sequels are always a delight, and this might be crowning achievement among them

Taking the barebones world and story of X/Y and turning that into something I care about and making me go "oh shit???" multiple times about during the runtime... Wild

The discourse losers would have you believe ZA is ugly

They are wrong. As always. Yes, buildings are flat, but you will only notice that while climbing ladders. Models are the nicest they've ever looked, the art direction is off the wall, and the animations are sick

Finished Pokémon Legends Z-A

A masterpiece in almost every regard. A fantastic adventure that has an amount of reverence for X/Y I could only dream of. It retroactively papers over the cracks those games have, and turns it into one of the better Pokémon games just from what this game does. Amazing.

Totally with you, the wandering part would be fine if the world was actually interesting to walk around in and had cool little tidbits to see but it's so kinda nothing with a few nice vistas across 50 hours

They could even encourage the exploration with bonus XP or items, you know, like Xenoblade!

Yeah ScVi rules, Nemona is the best rival imo!! But icl the slam dunk of having Area Zero be caused by the Ultimate Weapon not happening felt like such wasted potential
