My mom's ancestors settled on land in what is now Hamilton. My direct decendent was one of Robert Land's daughters. Her name was Rebecca, and there is a street, and apparently an apartment complex named after her in Hamilton.

My Dad's mother was born in Chicago in 1903. Her family had recently moved there from Austria. They moved to Edmonton when land for farming was made available.
I am eternally grateful for that.
My mom's side of the family has been here since 1791. They were United Empire Loyalists.
