Joe Manchin wouldn't break the filibuster to pass the John Lewis VRA-- convinced he could get his own bipartisan bill through-- and then was tanked by Republicans.

After the #GoHabsGo win at home on RDS and the first star interview ends, between that and when Pierre Houde reads the final score into Antechambre, they play a sort of "Dark HNIC" theme and I wish I knew of there's an alternate name to search or a clip of it somewhere.

Oddly I never get asked for professional thoughts. But this line is striking because it glosses over the disconnect between consumer and producer that is the focus of my research (and why that disconnect perpetuates inequity). Commodification-- especially between North and South-- self-reinforces.
Aside from on a few comparatively tiny farms in Hawaii, California, and Puerto Rico, coffee doesn’t grow in the United States: We cannot make the drink that we cannot live without. And though we expect coffee to be cheaply and abundantly available, its production is tremendously costly and difficult, even before tariffs.

I'm not sure how Jewish institutions expressing their desire for a better future of I/P expect that to happen when many fail to recognize Palestinian existence and fail to discuss a mutually intertwined future. And I don't think that makes Jews safer and it doesn't make Palestinians safer.
