For me, the idea of Silent Hill having bad combat only started with maybe 4? Before that, it was just basic and no frills but then they tried to make it a focus and it didn’t add much and detracted a lot (homecoming and downpour didn’t help with that perception )

But SH1-3 I enjoyed the gameplay

Oh god the silver fight … I really wish it had come out a few years later when patches were more standard in dev culture so they could “adjust” that and many other parts into something acceptable if not good.

Honestly, it's not as bad as ppl say but the awful is extreme and extremely front-loaded loaded so I don’t blame them.

The first half of Sonic's story and and every Mach speed or Amigo section is a huge mess and the rest of the game is marred with jank galore but still had potential.

I beat all the story but did it on my brother's Xbox account cos I played it during the holidays between university and the concept of how important user accounts would be hadn't clicked yet so I don't even have achievement history to show for my suffering lol

No Sonic team made Sonic game is prob the safest way of limiting the statement (cos you know the BioWare Sonic RPG)

Well, what will happen is cos there's a cracker for everyone it averages out. And the idea of the bad joke is that a good joke might not land but a bad joke will get the fun group groans

Reminds me of when I played Mass Effect on XBOX 360. I liked it and enjoyed the story but there was a huge gulf between that and how games media were talking about it as “more from the genius master storytellers at BioWare” and thought I was taking crazy pills.

And to add to you absolutely correct point they also may just want a pizza which is fine too. The lack of options is awful and “bad” tastey food should be a choice/treat instead of the only options.

Also love the taste of bananas. I wonder if Americans do something to their bananas like inject preservatives that lessen their taste (or if all the sugars and salt in their food have dulled their taste that much they can’t taste a banana anymore)

Also, Christ the actual wording for the messages is so non-specific, at least with the footballs ppl will it will be “wow that goal! Was amazing” all the baseball posts seem only cryptically related in the blandest way that I have to decipher it’s sports nonsense and not someone having a stroke)

It's a bit much for sure. For you guys it's prob intensified as before you were inside American culture so maybe saw it thru other avenues so it didn’t seem as weird.
