Thank you. My husband already has gotten his Covid and flu shots, thank goodness, but that there was ever any doubt he would qualify burns me (he is disabled, but under age 65).

I will be angling to get mine covered any which way, if possible. But it is not likely and it is unfair.
My husband has COPD and is on home oxygen.

I will be trying to book COVID shots for myself and our kids tomorrow, to protect him and ourselves, paying $300 where most of Canada pays nothing.

It's the Alberta Disadvantage in action.

We won't forget this come election time.

Every public health expert - “We need to reduce barriers to entry for vaccines and increase availability!”

UCP - “So you’re saying we should open up a month and a half window to rebook vaccines for a year from now?”

Experts - *Sob uncontrollably*

How is it only Wednesday?
Albertans are prepared to direct their government's priorities one CItizen's Initiative petition at a time, relentlessly, until we get a government in office that truly works fairly for all Albertans.

Thanks are due to the UCP for handing us this useful petition tool to fight them with.
WOW!

Alberta just got another approved referendum petition!

And this one calls for the practice of funding private schools with public money to be put to an end!

During the teachers strike!

Strap in Alberta, we’re going on a ride!

Daily emails in support of striking teachers sent to the Education Minister and Premier on my coffee break.

I am getting more efficient at this.
The teachers in my life have been looking so....bruised in spirit, lately. The glorious crowd pictures from the rallies today are very heartening. Hope that helps!

I have set up a schedule to call/email the premier and education minister in support every other day. Hope *that* helps! #ableg
Around my house, we sometimes refer to a $10 bill as a "Viola Desmond". Love sharing her story with my kids.
Viola Desmond's story was forgotten for years until her sister Wanda Robson brought it back to light with Graham Reynolds.
Today, Desmond's civil rights fight is known nationwide, and she is on our $10 bill.
This is her story.

I guess there’s no such thing as Alberta oil or Saskatchewan potash, either.

"... like it or not, this is Danielle Smith and the UCP’s problem. They told Albertans they wanted the job, they got the votes from Albertans to get the job, now Albertans are demanding they do their damned job."

Utter contempt and disrespect from Bruce McAllister.

Cutting off the kid's mic and limiting his freedom of expression is one thing, but saying he should be spanked is a fireable offense from a supposedly neutral moderator. Bruce needs to be removed immediately.
At tonight’s “consultation”…

When a high school kid tried to raise concerns about the teachers strike, Bruce McAllister cut the kids mic and then suggested his parents should have beaten him more.

Listen to the clip yourself…

It’s…

Telling.

“I know what we’ll do! We’ll tour around ‘Berta and film ourselves with real folk and answer questions ad lib, all folksy like, and we’ll just shut off mics when we don’t want to hear their questions. No way that goes wrong at all.”

The worst part about being politically news aware in Alberta is that we get to watch the Trump idiocracy and then switch to a local story about the Danielle Smith idiocracy, which frankly approaches circle levels of Venn Diagram overlap.

Is that an Alex Janvier painting on the wall, that the two leaders are looking at together?

Sorry, I just love Janvier's work.
Very much on the side of teachers, but also wondering when the UCP Minister of Education and Childcare will be offering some free Covid shots to childcare workers who arguably are even more exposed to flu season illnesses.
Just beautifully done - the lyrics are perfect, and beyond that, so is the country sound. I played this on my phone at my signature collection event this evening.
I love the signs students made for that protest.
- By the Pointe Agriculture Event Centre, Thursday evening
- Cambrian Dog Park on Friday evening
- By the Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion on Friday evening
- Broadmoor Lake Park on Saturday morning
Other opportunities, including a Mon-Thurs evening signing hour on Lark Street, can be found here:

Oh, man. I *like* always disagreeing with Ted Cruz, and now in this moment I can't.
A positive thing we can do in these troubling times is sign the Forever Canadian Petition at one of 100s of locations registered throughout Alberta www.forever-canadian.ca/sign-the-pet...
If you've already signed, please let others know about it, and how they can sign, too.
