And yeah. Thats a thing when I was younger, and the result of being in white dominated communities.

But now its hard to not think "Am I even 'black' enough??"

Who even knows if I was truly privileged in most aspects when the game of life is rigged from the start if you have a shred of melanin lol

Obviously not to say its not impossible, but if we wanna get specific I'm biracial. Mom is black, dad was white (rest in peace)

And I've had a necessary and difficult conversation with another black friend about growing up more privileged than others and unlearning my internalized racism

This is definitely a thing to hash out in therapy one of these days but its really hard to not feel like im going "Hi look at me I'm actually black please believe me."

the lack of boosting black positivity or just interacting with black art is upsetting. black art, people, and characters aren't viewed in the same desirability as white characters.

I've also really enjoyed the concept of making it a parallel play/co working vibe.

Interaction isn't required for engagement and more often than not i find myself with a stream or two open while I work

Its hard to say anything else other than you do have to just kinda dive in!

At the very least for me drawing is a chill/low energy vibe. Don't be afraid of the silence while you focus

In terms of drawing itself, I usually go by the motto of fast and loose. Make shapes before the finer details, etc
