Can’t stop thinking about all the robber baron fucks that held secret meetings and spent MILLIONS AND MILLIONS in bribes and campaign investments and attack ads and media manipulation trying to tank Mamdani currently having the dawning realization that their money is completely and utterly useless.

Wow it turns out the entire country is not permanently reactionary because Trump won an election by 1.5%

Spectacular. And let’s be clear anyone who voted for Trump’s boy Cuomo ought to be ashamed of themselves.

We’re living in a world where Mike Johnson has articulated a more compelling Democratic agenda than Chuck Schumer has…
Mike Johnson: "Imagine a scenario where they were in charge and they didn't have the filibuster. We would have nationalized elections, they would infringe on our 2A rights, they'd pack the Supreme Court, and they'd make Puerto Rico and DC states."

I have said this before, and I’ll say it again here: We are at most a few years away from the mainstream media becoming controlled top to bottom, with a few very exceptions, by ultrarich conservatives and their hirelings. trib.al/ARRddzG
The Washington Post Has Become Right-Wing Even Faster Than I Thought
It’s not going to happen. It’s happening: The mainstream media is becoming right-wing. What are wealthy liberals going to do about it?

What if the analysis that says Dems are in trouble because of weak brand and having lost in 2024 is totally wrong? Dems barely lost last year. There are more Dems than Republicans. Young voters skew heavily Dem and by 2028 the majority of voters will be under 40. Trump's approval rating is terrible.

Exactly. Dems barely lost last year. And this is with a candidate who only had 107 days to campaign. And against R’s information warfare that rivals vvPutin’s (x(sh)itter, MSM, Fox & unwittingly L-accomplices), gerrymandering, R-voter suppression and R-shenanigans unknown (but surely in play)!

The Dems have won the popular vote in presidential elections six times since 1992 by roughly 5.5%(1992), 8.5%,(1996) .5%(2000), 7.3%(2008), 4%(2012), 2%(2016),and 4.5%(2020).
In that period the GOP presidential candidate has won the popular vote twice: 2.5%(2004) and 1.5%(2024).
Douthat writes that 2024, when Harris lost by 1.5% of the popular vote, was "an ideological referendum and progressivism lost." I wonder why he didn't view the 2020 election, when Trump lost by 4.5% of the popular vote, as a far more significant loss for conservatism.

Comparing the relation between the presidential election results in 2020 and 2024 with the post-election commentary is a fascinating exercise.

2020
Biden 81,283,501 popular votes, 51.3%
Trump 74,223,975 popular votes 46.8%

2024
Trump 77,302,580 49.8%
Harris 75,017,613. 48.3%

The one person with the most resources to do good for humanity has devoted himself heart and soul to lying about people from ethnic groups he hates.

Money does not, clearly, make a man less simple, less gullible, less choked with bigotry.
Elon Musk, "These lovely small towns in England, Scotland and Ireland, they've been living their lives quietly. They're like hobbits"

"And so one day, 1,000 people show up in your village of 500 and start raping the kids"

"This has now happened, God knows how many times in Britain"

A happy ending to the story of the Lost Budgerigar: she was reported rescued this morning in Central Park and will be taken for veterinary care. Thanks to all for your concern, particularly those who observed her and tried to help her. 🦜 💛

Note that other countries are talking soberly about whether or not it's possible to fill the vacuum left by the U.S. - not whether or not the U.S. is still looked to as a leader.

SecDef announcing another (9th) lethal strike, again in the Pacific against an unspecified "designated terrorist organization."

Claims these "DTOs are the 'Al Qaeda' of our hemisphere.

Nope.

No armed attack on US like 9/11.

No AUMF.

No armed conflict.

Just more lawless premeditated killing.

🎉🎉🎉 It's always a thrill to spot an American Kestrel in Central Park. Though it's still quite common, Kestrels are facin a steep decline--at least 50% since the 1970s. This beauty spent quite some time preening early this morning! 🧡🖤🧡 #Kestrel #CentralPark #birding

For days, I’ve been talking to a woman whose loved one has disappeared into ICE system. The torture of not knowing where this person is and what’s going to happen to them - it reminds me of covering the parents searching for the bodies of their missing kids in Mexico. No answers. No good answers.

One of the fiercest-looking raptors--the Bald Eagle. Spotted fishing along the Deefield River in the Berkshires. Just after I took this shot, it flew off down the river. 🦅🦅🦅 #Eagle #Berkshires #birding
