The screenshot dunking is so unnecessary in this instance. People told her why it's wrong and she understood. She's not a computer scientist, she's not a petulant young whipper snapper trying to be unethical on purpose. Sending the hounds on her like that is ghoulish.

If a quarter of the people shoving their phones in the face of people being dragged by the state would do so much as extend a hand, no one would be arrested. Videos have made people impotent. They're 50 phones against 3 goons thinking they're doing something. No one needs 50 angles of a kidnapping.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a cancer vaccine that has shown STUNNING results, PREVENTING up to 88% of MULTIPLE aggressive cancers by harnessing dual-pathway nanoparticles that train the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells. In some cases, it COMPLETELY prevented metastasis.

Boss, we’ve got a problem. Users don’t want this stuff! They keep wanting to turn it off, even when we keep turning it back on!

IMHO, LLMs will be an economic negative for years.

They'll do a worse job than humans,

but will still replace humans because they're cheaper for employers,

but really they're costlier, it's just that lots of costs get externalized to society by our horrible energy/tax policies.

Lose-lose-lose.
The Real AI Risk is ‘Meh’ Technology That Takes Jobs and Annoys Us All
While AI doomsday scenarios dwell on the risks posed by superintelligent robot overlords, one Nobel-Prize winning economist fears a more mundane possibility.

I like Bsky more than any social platform I’ve used, but my goodness it has big “I knew them before they were cool” energy.

You mention something bad: “are you surprised?” You mention something good: “I knew about that WAY before you.” This is an exhausting, anti-social way to interact, you guys.

Seeing too soon can disrupt how the brain’s visual circuits form. Premature vision in ferrets led to abnormal motion processing, offering clues to vision problems in preterm infants.

It's interesting how the western discourse on Japan went

"The Japanese are so *civilized*, they mask when they're sick to avoid making others sick, we should be more like that"
Pandemic: Here's your chance
"TYRANNY!!!" *never praises Japanese masking again*
