I remember my home phone number from when I was a kid, and my best friend's number. I have my husband's cell number memorized. It's wild that the concept of memorizing numbers is hard to comprehend for kids these days.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Long ago I RPed with a guy whose char had a velociraptor pet that looked like the ones from JP. I told him they should have feathers, be smaller etc and he said he didn't care, he "preferred them that way". I will never forget. They prefer the fantasy monsters, not the real science.

It's been almost two years and I still have dreams about Nim. I had a very vivid one a couple weeks ago and was crying within moments of waking up when I started to think about what it meant. It gets easier but it doesn't go away, and he'll always be with you, but it won't always hurt so much. <3
