Here's one for #chrisphilp @scottories.bsky.social etc. If police are delegated to run around checking young black men on a vague suspicion of having knives, can we expect the same or slower response of said police to reports of people actually carrying knives #peterborough
Pleased Anna confronted him on his racist (and discredited) policy proposal. He really walked right into it. Unhappy they failed to point out that knife crime is not rising in London despite scaremongering.
It is irresponsible, & simply wrong to demand, proveably ineffective policy because a single, uniquely horrifying event occurs. #chrisphilp 's road crash interview #r4today Medical treatment for knife attacks down at least 30% from peak in London. Something else - not sus laws seems to have worked

The Guardian's headline this evening about him is "Ex-Prince Andrew should ..." Flexing that Disrespect! Will he resort to a symbol now? TPFKAPA - 1st P can stand for what you wish.
The Duke of Northumberland is hawking his "green" ...

Can't imagine him giving away his green. #blackadder #timmcinnery
Colleague: I'm out of here. Got to pick up an accordion.
Me: Saltwater or freshwater?
Him: Huh?
Me: Sorry, thought you said aquarium, but a saltwater accordion would be good for a sea shanty.
I know what for Christmas. A saltwater accordion - knitted. Should keep neighbours happy.
And Justin seemed delighted that electric vehicles cause un-regulated nickel mining. Presumably other vehicles depend on impeccably sourced, low-impact materials & their environmental impact is exaggerated. Mind, climate-driven destruction of Amazon solves issues of uncontacted peoples! :-(
It's easy to find images of intestines of people with & without lactose intolerance. Imagine how it would blow her mind if she found that she can no more tell their race by that than she can tell their nationality by their skin colour. FWIW IBS minimally linked to ethnicity/race. #IBSiscomplicated

Local government isn’t “boring bureaucracy.” It’s social care, housing, libraries, leisure centres, youth clubs.

When these vanish, communities fracture – and people notice. When local government breaks, so does trust in politics itself.
New report confirms local government crisis is growing
The Institute for Government’ annual review of the state of local government, published last week, paints an alarming picture

If it makes a difference to you whether people in an advert have different coloured eyes or hair from you - you're an idiot & a danger to society. Same applies for skin colour. If you decide whether a person in an advert is British by their skin colour. Then you're racist. #sarahpochin #reform
So #Ange couldn't even manage a full #LizTruss Am I wrong to question the sanity and/or credibility of who next takes the poisoned chalice from the owner? @nottinghamforest.news
Fair point. inquiring minds might wonder if provision of adequate space for pedestrians and other modes of transport could be included but I suspect that would get short shrift.
#cityofedinburgh proud of their freshly painted #northbridge. For context, here is a picture of the last time it was fully open to traffic.
Returning to #R4NewsQuiz from 3rd Oct. Some gratingly ill-informed yeast-raised British baked goods discussion. Have #zoelyons & @zaltzcricket.bsky.social never heard of the #muffin man, muffin man. Historical context on batter wetness for #crumpet v muffin in the bible:

I have a feeling the right wing attack machine isn’t going to work on Zack.
"I'm not surprised the personal attacks have started. They've got loads of lines: about my teeth, about my history as an actor, about my name change... the right just don't actually have a line of attack against me that's political"

Kemi Badenoch blames those crossing borders for our problems. It’s a lie aimed to distract.

The real issue is a system protecting the super-rich while nurses & carers can’t make ends meet. Tax wealth fairly, fund public services properly. This is how we give Britain hope again.
Correction: Boris got the hugely vocational degree of Literae humaniores (The Greats) but see D. Cameron and R. Sunak for the power of a PPE.
As opposed to Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford where the whole country gets ripped off? #LizTruss #BorisJohnson
Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if more people with massive incomes have e.g. English degrees than narrowly focussed specialist ones. #whoyouknow
Badenoch and Co see education only as a means to a massive income in some soul destroying career.

Devoid of imagination and the power of knowledge they view life entirely through the prism of the CV.

My advice always is to study what interests you and the rest will follow

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.
Listening to Tex Morton over a lovely curry and thinking that either 1) I've not been listening to @cerysmatthews.bsky.social on Sundays enough or 2) She's not played enough #yodelling recently.
