Do what you can to help when the moment arises.

That’s literally all it takes to make your community a magical place to live. Knowing you can rely on your neighbors to do their best to help, strangers or not, changes everything.

It’s not woo woo. It’s what we used to aspire to.

Ah, gotcha. I definitely wish more places cut X. A lot of companies still use it because they feel it’s required to stay relevant, but I don’t like that they’re basically supporting it.

Reminds me of how many banks in America started in slave trade, but are still widely used today.

Miller pointing out the number of Oregon law enforcement and guns is interesting.

These topics get hyperbolic fast. I don’t buy that this is genuinely meant to trigger a civil war, but it’s obvious Miller has considered the risk.

It’s giving 1970s Chicago, when police officers would set up outside the projects and shoot into them until somebody finally confronted them.

It’s not yet as bad as the Tulsa Massacre, when white supremacists (incl. cops) injured hundreds of Black residents with guns, planes, and bombs.

Sanders: I am not a great fan of the affordable care act. I believe in medicare for all. I think that health care is a human right, but I will be damned if I'm going to see people in Vermont and around this country see a doubling in their premiums.

Growing up with a pastor and minoring in religious studies, I couldn’t believe just how little of our “main religion” we actually understand.

American Christians often miss the symbolism of calling a Jewish radical by a name in the oppressing country’s language, don’t understand the loaves and fishes story is a nod to a Jewish prophesy, and completely miss how Saul’s violent support for God ends up being not being the way.

It’s giving state’s rights, but not the way you’d think.

If nothing else we’re seeing just how much the independence of individual states has diminished. Even states like CA that economically cover several others don’t seem to have meaningful leverage.

We really need to stop excusing the 80 year old man acting like a 14 year old. If this was my grandfather, I’d be starting a conversation with the family about cognitive decline.
