New platform, might as well introduce myself properly for once.

I'm Scott, I studied geology at Indiana and now I live near where I grew up and work for a private engineering firm in NJ with most of our work being in NYC.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Rana. Rana was studying to work in a medical laboratory before the war and her husband owned a small gift shop. Their home and shop were destroyed. They have two children Hamoud, 3 and Tota, 7. Hamoud’s eyes were injured and needs treatment.

The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

Two basaltic rocks that kind of blend into my gray couch with a note from Dr. Scruggs with the information here. On the left is obsidian from big obsidian flow, from the about 1300 year old eruption of Newberry volcano in Oregon. It's pretty solid and shiny. On the right is scoria from lava Butte from the eruption of Newberry volcano about 7 thousand years ago. It is rough and porous and full of vugs.
