Also this is the most jealous I've been in my entire life lol, you are living the dream!!! and I'm SO glad for you and I am so galvanized to traipse around the jungles one day and get on your level. And, I can't believe you found these in the middle of all those other amazing plants, haha

Getting a little in the weeds (ha) but D. dolichocaula is a subspecies of D. ramosa. The main species can be variable as well. Here's a specimen with curled appendages.

Rest in peace to Queen Silver, my favorite quail. She was 4.5 years old. I'm glad I gave her an inadvisable amount of mealworms as her last meal yesterday. She's survived by her sisters Caramel and Irish Creme.

Very on-brand of her to bounce on the first windy, rainy day of autumn. I'll miss her.

the late spouse of our friend was a world renowned expert on these lamps/ windows; they didn’t have this one but they took pics of most of the nautilus types in existence for one of their books. I liked those sea creature types the best, they also documented octopus lamps. So gorgeous!

Got to see some real Tiffany lamps today from an interesting friends’ private collection… I didn’t get it before, but now I do. Goddamn they did some crazy stuff with glass and metal

Okay… WIP and looks like hot shit, but also unironically going according to keikaku.

About to make the wisest possible investment of time and materials I’ve attempted yet. I’ll update with a pic if successful.

Comic books are (and this isn’t hyperbole) the greatest story telling medium that has ever existed. The combination of text and images rendered with a human hand is the most direct path from one mind to another. All other medium pale in comparison.

Anyone have a particularly hot comic take?

I don't talk about dayjob stuff much anymore, but I'll make an exception here cuz I'm happy with how our new campaign for Dungeon Crawler Carl came together. And proud of the creators and everyone who worked on this thing!! (except @adamccahoon.bsky.social)

Between them and the danger woims I've had it about up to here with scary-looking but ultimately harmless creachers scaring me, half to death, specifically

I've been having a taxing year and lately have been spending most of my free time outside, plus trying to undo some of the harm in the world by being considerate and gentle with my enemies. This weekend that meant learning how to high jump around about 10000 spiders in the rocks I had to move.

Though I just saw that wiki image says [citation needed] so maybe they're dangerous after all. At this point I kind of wish they were to justify all the protracted woim tweezering and delicate maneuvers.
